02/05/23 We're almost ready to kick off the New Year here at Final Furlong! The New Years Sale is still OPEN for bids - lots of ponies needing homes! As well, we're hoping to close January Week One races by MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6. However, if we need to extend closing date so more people can get entered, just let us know in the Discord. In addition to getting your pages ready, don't forget to use your bonus points if you'd like!
01/29/23 Congratulations to KENREN for winning the Y21 Breeders' Cup Betting Contest! You've won a breeding reserve to FIFTY DREAMS (Firestone Stud) and 2x 2 furlong extensions + 5 bonus horse points! Lolly finished 2nd, and Cruisey finished 3rd.
12/08/22 The Breeder's Cup Betting Contest will make a return for Y21!!! It'll be a little bit different because of the new points system, but get ready for some end of year fun 😄

08/20/22 Judging has been the basis for issues for a long time - taking too long, drama regarding results, bias, etc. Kenren has attempted to put a points system together that keeps the spirit of our system while streamlining and standardizing the process. It's a lot to take in, but once you get in the swing of it, preparing pages with these points takes way less time than doing a layout change lol! If you have any questions, please post them in the judging-help channel on Discord for now. If anyone needs help with anything, please let an admin know! We would like to give everyone one week to get things settled, and then we would like to run July Wk 2 using this system closing 8/27/22 (or earlier if everyone is ready). If it works out, we would like to run two game weeks per RL week to get things moving! Thank you all so much for being her!e

07/21/22 it's official! We're back! It looks like June Wk 4 was almost fully judged, so make sure you get that updated if you hadn't! We will plan to close the next week (July Wk 1) on Thursday, August 4th. This close day may change, but it's not a bad place to start! For now we'll be doing one game week per RL week to get back into things. Please remember that starting the second half of the year, 3yos can compete against older horses without automatic lower placements.
As an aside, because this is fairly sudden after a whole year, we will not be allowing reclaims on horses for members not currently active for a few months. We will readdress this going forward if needed. Thank you all for understanding!

Alice had settled in for the final workout of the day next to Kieran but the pair didn’t speak, instead their gazes were trained intently on the two fillies out on the track. Both of them were hopeful for the two 3 year olds now running a light workout which apparently neither filly liked the idea of. Nova sported her usual sour expressions as the two of them began to stretch out and run. She was looking typically unfriendly, even more so now she was in the presence of Pippin which was unsurprising as Nova seemed to take offense at the mere existence of other horses. In fairness her attitude was little different towards people either but the jockey on her back, Lucas, had earned her respect for a willfulness matching her own. The process was needless to say something that had required a lot of perseverance on Lucas’ part but the pair now seemed to have made a good partnership. For now Lucas remained the only person Nova wouldn’t immediately try to take a chunk out of upon approaching her stall.
Pippin had originally looked a stark contrast to Nova when first led out, coming out with comparatively less fuss to the bay mare and with her ears pricked forward. Pippin was a sweetheart around people and seemed to have bonded well with Helen who was now sat atop her. However, as the filly had come within sight of Nova her demeanor had immediately changed, displaying a totally contrasting attitude to before. It was strange to watch Pippin’s stark difference in nature when dealing with people and when dealing with other horses, the filly seemed to almost have two separate personalities. She approached Nova with flattened ears and bared teeth and the other filly responded in kind to the aggression.
Now out on the track the fillies eyed one another up fiercely as they ran. Their dislike of one another seemed to fuel their competitive natures and the pair were having difficulties keeping the workout to a light workout. Both fillies were giving their jockeys a hard time, pulling hard against the reigns, itching to prove superior to the other. Helen seemed to be having a slightly easier time keeping Lucy under control as the filly was a little more responsive but it was a close thing.
Nova stuck stubbornly to Pippin’s side in silent challenge, both of them had their ears pinned back against their heads. Despite their aggression towards one another and their unhappiness with the pace their jockeys were asking them to run, both fillies seemed to be enjoying the thrill of running nevertheless. Both jockeys kicked up the pace a little and the two fillies responded eagerly with rapid acceleration. The pair stayed close to one another as they sped down the track towards the end of their workout, both making good times with an encouraging display.
