02/05/23 We're almost ready to kick off the New Year here at Final Furlong! The New Years Sale is still OPEN for bids - lots of ponies needing homes! As well, we're hoping to close January Week One races by MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6. However, if we need to extend closing date so more people can get entered, just let us know in the Discord. In addition to getting your pages ready, don't forget to use your bonus points if you'd like!
01/29/23 Congratulations to KENREN for winning the Y21 Breeders' Cup Betting Contest! You've won a breeding reserve to FIFTY DREAMS (Firestone Stud) and 2x 2 furlong extensions + 5 bonus horse points! Lolly finished 2nd, and Cruisey finished 3rd.
12/08/22 The Breeder's Cup Betting Contest will make a return for Y21!!! It'll be a little bit different because of the new points system, but get ready for some end of year fun 😄

08/20/22 Judging has been the basis for issues for a long time - taking too long, drama regarding results, bias, etc. Kenren has attempted to put a points system together that keeps the spirit of our system while streamlining and standardizing the process. It's a lot to take in, but once you get in the swing of it, preparing pages with these points takes way less time than doing a layout change lol! If you have any questions, please post them in the judging-help channel on Discord for now. If anyone needs help with anything, please let an admin know! We would like to give everyone one week to get things settled, and then we would like to run July Wk 2 using this system closing 8/27/22 (or earlier if everyone is ready). If it works out, we would like to run two game weeks per RL week to get things moving! Thank you all so much for being her!e

07/21/22 it's official! We're back! It looks like June Wk 4 was almost fully judged, so make sure you get that updated if you hadn't! We will plan to close the next week (July Wk 1) on Thursday, August 4th. This close day may change, but it's not a bad place to start! For now we'll be doing one game week per RL week to get back into things. Please remember that starting the second half of the year, 3yos can compete against older horses without automatic lower placements.
As an aside, because this is fairly sudden after a whole year, we will not be allowing reclaims on horses for members not currently active for a few months. We will readdress this going forward if needed. Thank you all for understanding!

Sat outside, tucked away in a quiet corner of the stables, William casually lit another cigarette as he pulled out a newspaper to read during the break. Apparently there was an article in it about the newest acquisitions at the stable, as well as a couple of their upcoming horses. It wouldn't give him any new informant but it should be an interesting read all the same.
He chuckled to himself as he read the interview that Arthur had given for the article. The man was a nice lad, but he could be amusingly enthusiastic sometimes. Take recent events, for example. He'd gone out to talk about buying one horse and had come back with three! Ridiculous. Peter had almost thrown a fit about it, though his wife had thankfully been on hand to calm him down. Then the icing on the cake had been a few days later, when Arthur had bought yet another horse - though, at least this one had been one that he had been watching for a while.
William was still fondly remembering the furious look on Peter's face as he turned the page and finally came to the part of the article that talked about the horses:

Spotlight Pride x Daddy's Overdraft
This two year old filly has yet to hit the tracks, but when she does big things are expected from her! With a lineage like her's, she definitely has a lot to live up to, but staff at King of the Hill Stables are convinced that she can do it. They report that she's an energetic filly that has befriended a fellow racehorse, Rabid - who you may have seen on the track already this year. Watch out for this stunning grey filly churning up the turf in the upcoming months!

Sweet Cheeto x Destined for Glory
A four year old mare that has already begun to make a name for herself in HOTY, Chetory's appearances on the track so far this year have been limited. However, now at a new home, she should be dazzling the crowds regularly once again soon. With two HOTY wins under her belt already and countless more experience, staff don't think it will be long before she's winning more races and should be at G1 within no time! Reportedly, Chetory is a steady, intelligent horse that always has her heart in the race.

Have you ever seen a more stunning horse? At five years old, this sabino mare surely has yet to meet another on the track that is quite as eye catching as her. She entered the racing world late at four years old but quickly took the track by storm - winning a grand total of nine races last year! Can she do something similar this year? Only time will tell! Soon to reach G2, Platinum Fuhr will soon be attempting to break into the world of HOTY!

Another eye catching horse, this bay roan mare is five years old and has already reached G1. She's already began to dip her hooves into HOTY and will be forcing her way through the door of the competition this year. With only one HOTY win to her name and limited experience so far, it's sure to be a learning curve. Can she do it? King of the Hill certainly seem to think so! The Oddity is a confident horse that knows how to focus on the task at hand - two qualities that will surely do her well in her quest to become a HOTY superstar.
The Greater Good
Majestic Hero x Paramore
A yearling colt, this boy has yet to hit the tracks. Purchased by King of the Hill Stables last year, he has been in training to become the next big thing. His sire is Majestic Hero, a G1 stallion by HoF/BHoF Everyday Hero. With a big name like that in his blood, keen eyed racing fans will surely be watching this colt. The Greater Good is a dominant, playful horse than can often be found throwing about one of the many toys staff at his home give him in order to keep him entertained. If not, he's probably in on the other side of the paddock, trying to chew the fence in secret!
Tudor Rose
Justa Muffin x White Rose
Another colt that has yet to race, Tudor Rose is a bay yearling by known sire Justa Muffin. His older sister by the same sire, Fever Pitch, is also owned by King of the Hill and is currently at G3, soon to reach G2! Tudor Rose's dam, White Rose, is a relatively new producer, and her first foal, Primrose, is due to hit the tracks this year. A joy to work with, this colt is reportedly one of the most well behaved on the yard. Will he keep that up on the track, or prove himself to secretly be a handful? Find out next year!
