Races close on Mondays at 9PM EST! Our Next Sale Begins: January Y22.
02/05/23 We're almost ready to kick off the New Year here at Final Furlong! The New Years Sale is still OPEN for bids - lots of ponies needing homes! As well, we're hoping to close January Week One races by MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6. However, if we need to extend closing date so more people can get entered, just let us know in the Discord. In addition to getting your pages ready, don't forget to use your bonus points if you'd like!
01/29/23 Congratulations to KENREN for winning the Y21 Breeders' Cup Betting Contest! You've won a breeding reserve to FIFTY DREAMS (Firestone Stud) and 2x 2 furlong extensions + 5 bonus horse points! Lolly finished 2nd, and Cruisey finished 3rd.
12/08/22 The Breeder's Cup Betting Contest will make a return for Y21!!! It'll be a little bit different because of the new points system, but get ready for some end of year fun 😄
11/21/22 Entries for the New Year Sale are now open! We know it seems a bit early, but with life things we're going to need time to make sure things are right lol. Please follow the link here: https://final-furlong.proboards.com/thread/2304/y22-new-year-sale
08/20/22 Judging has been the basis for issues for a long time - taking too long, drama regarding results, bias, etc. Kenren has attempted to put a points system together that keeps the spirit of our system while streamlining and standardizing the process. It's a lot to take in, but once you get in the swing of it, preparing pages with these points takes way less time than doing a layout change lol! If you have any questions, please post them in the judging-help channel on Discord for now. If anyone needs help with anything, please let an admin know! We would like to give everyone one week to get things settled, and then we would like to run July Wk 2 using this system closing 8/27/22 (or earlier if everyone is ready). If it works out, we would like to run two game weeks per RL week to get things moving! Thank you all so much for being her!e
07/27/22 To start July off fresh, we've been playing around with a new theme for Final Furlong! Make sure to check out 'Sonorous' under your profile ❤️ Feel free to use whatever theme works best for yourself. We can't wait to get back to racing!
07/21/22 it's official! We're back! It looks like June Wk 4 was almost fully judged, so make sure you get that updated if you hadn't! We will plan to close the next week (July Wk 1) on Thursday, August 4th. This close day may change, but it's not a bad place to start! For now we'll be doing one game week per RL week to get back into things. Please remember that starting the second half of the year, 3yos can compete against older horses without automatic lower placements.
As an aside, because this is fairly sudden after a whole year, we will not be allowing reclaims on horses for members not currently active for a few months. We will readdress this going forward if needed. Thank you all for understanding!
07/08/22 GO answer the poll ❤️ https://final-furlong.proboards.com/thread/2232/ff-restart-poll
Stud Catalog Y18 When you breed a mare to a KF stud, they will be under your primary buybacks to own, train, race, sell and breed. Feel free to list KF Stud as secondary buybacks.
A True Hero Everyday Hero - The True Nut, by True Italian G1 - Dual 9-12F
New for Year 18!
Who is he? A True Hero is a delightful stallion by Hall of Famer/Breeding Hall of Famer Everyday Hero out of Hall of Famer The True Nut. During his racing career he lacked the obnoxious 'studly' behavior often associated with stallions. He's maintained the pleasant - sometimes annoying - disposition of a two year old. When we say that, we mean that he's been energetic yet easy to handle. He's never fussed around fillies or mares and could run against them without having to change your game plan during races. He retired sound at the end of Y17 and began his stud career at Kennington Farm.
About His Career A True Hero earned $1 million in earnings during his racing career. At 2 he placed in the Norman Hall Stakes, Louisiana Futurity and came third in the Jack Prince Juvenile and Kentucky Juvenile Stakes. At 3 he won the Autumn Cup and Seashell Cup. During his 4 year old and final season, he won the Top Quality Stakes and placed in the Spring Cup G2 Turf while finishing third in the Champion Stakes, The True Nut Memorial Stakes and Clark Handicap.
About His Sire This stallion is by the Hall of Famer and Breeding Hall of Famer and original-lined Everyday Hero. This stallion accumulated over $2.5 million during his racing career and has become a proven producer of G1 horses. His first foal crop arrived in Y6 with G1 winning Vindictive Fury, as well as G1 Wish Upon A Star, G1 Majestic Hero, G1 Wishing For A Heroine, G1 Taboo and G1 Celebrity. His most recent crop of 3 years all finished the year at the G3 level with the exception of Celebrity who made G1 as a 3 year old.
About His Dam A True Hero boasts an powerful pedigree on his sire side alone yet his dam side is packed with just as much power and then some. The True Nut is a Hall of Famer mare that accumulated $4.5 million during her racing career. She won major races such as the Breeders' Cup, Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf and placed in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf. During her astounding 77 starts, this mare only placed out of the money SIX times. As of Y17, A True Hero is her first G1 foal to date.
Apollo Bear Determination - Augusta, by Augusto G1 - Dual 7-12F
"Get the Augusto line without the angst!"
Who is he? Most people associate the Augusto-line with bared teeth and bruised ribs. Apollo Bear has the power of Augusto without the angst.
About His Career Although lightly raced, Apollo Bear managed to get a few good placings under his belt during his racing career. At 3 he placed in the Belmont Turf Classic and finished third in the Wood Memorial Stakes and Queen's Plate. At 5 he finished third in The Wire Finish Cup Turf. He continued to race into his 6 year old season, running sound before finally being retired late May.
About His Sire Sired by the late Determination, a name that doesn't usually ring any bells. This stallion is grandsire of last year's Triple Crown Champion Black Thriller (sired by Black Wire) and grandsire to Y14 Canadian Triple Crown Champion and Hall of Famer, Anodyne.. He also sired the following:
Sun Chaser (G3, earnings of $800,000): Dam to Y14 Canadian Triple Crown Champion, Y14 3 Year Old of the Year, Y15 Best Dirt Male of the Year, Y15 Best Stayer of the Year and Hall of Famer Anodyne
About His Dam Augusta is a dual-surfaced G1 winning mare that won the Breeders Cup Filly and Mare, Breeders' Cup Marathon and Breeders' Cup Juvenile with winnings over $5.5 million. She is the dam to G2 Warlock, G2 Atalanta, G1 Anarchi and G1 Contessa.
About His Damsire The True Nut's sire, True Italian, sired Cute Italian - a G1 winning dirt mare.
"Determined, daring and dominating, he's all work and no play"
Who is he? Million dollar earning stallion, Majestic Hero, is a super classic turf horse. He's remained relatively consistent throughout his entire racing career, retiring with 89% racing consistency. We own his half brother, A True Hero, and the colt went from G5 to G2 all within his three year old season. If you're looking for a determined, confident and ambitious sire for your mares, then look no further than Majestic Hero. When he was on the track this stallion was complete business nothing could distract him from the finish line. Outside of the track he shows his dominant side and shows that he believes he's king of just about everything.
About His Career At 2 he won the Follow The Hoofprints Turf Mile and placed in the Azalea Cup Colts. During his career he accumulated over $1.5 million in earnings by placing 37 times out of his 42 starts.
"Sire of foals that are stamped with intelligence and a will to please."
Who is he? A mischievous sprinter-type stallion who won at the G4 level. This stallion is incredibly intelligent and is usually found getting into trouble. He lacks any sort of aggression, but he can be a bit rowdy and prance about when around mares. He's done fairly well over five to eight furlongs and has showed a preference for both turf and dirt over the years. He's not a big name seen around in the horse racing industry but he did manage to pull his weight in both the Breeder's Cup Sprint and Unicorn Horn Sprint. His foals seem to always inherit his chrome factor.
About His Career Lightly raced during his career, Super Sparky finished third in the Unicorn Horn Sprint and Breeders' Cup Sprint.
About His Progeny He had one foal in his first crop, a Y13 mare named Superb Curiosity. She's currently G2 and two wins away from G1-status as a 5 year old. His second crop includes a Y14 colt by the name of Super Cat that started his racing career as a 3 year old. He was able to break his maiden the first time out in the Seashell Cup G5 Sprint. His third foal crop includes a Y15 colt named Turbocharged that finished his two year old season at the G4 level. He won the Stable Faceoff Maiden Dirt Sprint and placed in the Seaspray Cup G5 Sprint. He also finished third in the Winter Cup G4 Dirt Sprint and Wallenda Derby.
This is a sire you want to pair your sprinter mares with ASAP as his foals are getting hotter and hotter with each crop! An unraced mare sold in foal to him for $15,000 at the Y18 January Horses of All Ages Sale.
"Sire of Breeders' Cup Dirt Winner, Dark Charmer."
Who is he? Another well mannered stallion of Kennington. Where Autumn Storm lacks in the successful career department he makes up for it with his sweet personality and conformation. He is a great match for first time broodmares or even mares with bad temperaments. He's a very patient horse and is just as manageable under saddle. He has a rather stout build with strong legs and a wide neck and rib cage. He's sure to pass down his stamina and strength to his foals. If you're looking to for a sire that will pass on a powerful build to his foals, look no further. Autumn Storm has the stout yet lean muscular build that is capable of providing durability and longevity during his career.
About His Progeny His first and only foal to date is Dark Charmer who went on to win the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile, Handsome Mile and Santa Anita Derby. He also went on to place in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile, The Wire Finish Cup Dirt and the Kentucky Derby during his career.
