[Horses involved: Brown Apple, Black Rider]

For many people, this was just a typical Sunday morning, a day many family hanged out together and connect with each other, a day couples went out for a long date and perhaps, this was just a day to rest for the fatigued who had a long week of work. For the newly established Goliath of Racing stable though, today was not the day to relax. People and horses were gathered at the training ground, basking in the warm sun of late winter. On the training track were a colt and a filly, Black Rider and Brown Apple. In a classic closer vs frontrunner battle, Black Rider was put on the back, about 6 horse length, and was in the middle of catching up to the leading filly at the moment. These two trained a lot together as they were the most competitive among the few horses the stable has for now and their styles were perfect for each other. Riding Black Rider was George, the sole jockey who has gotten the Black Rider's seal of approval for now. George was the fifth jockey to be sniffed around by the picky colt and this up-and-comer was just the right guy. Brown Apple was easy, and so her jockey at the moment was merely a trainer of the ranch. As the new establishment in town, Goliath of Racing has not hired any jockey yet. They were merely scouting the freelance pool for now, searching for the most suitable for their horses.

"Mr. Kanemoto, have you gotten comfortable with American food?" Between the two VIPs of the stable was a translator briding their language barrier. Kanemoto sometime went with the horses to compete around the world but he never has a chance to learn a second language. Ma has some rudimentary English in his arsenal from doing business all over the globe but no Japanese. The translator certainly has his job secured for a very long time. "That's too early to tell, Mr. Ma, I can only say with certainty that the Japanese food here aren't very good." Kanemoto relayed his message to the translator with a smirky smile. His eyes were still on the track, watching as Black Rider attempting to close the last two horse length within two furlongs to go. "That is no surprise. You are not going to the same experience as you would in your home country and that is a fact everywhere." Black Rider was closing in on Brown Apple, who fought hard to stay in front. The filly could certainly see the black colt getting bigger and bigger from her side and she knew she was exhausted. Regardless, she fought on, refused to let go of her leading position without a fight, not when the finishing line was so close.

"On the other hand, our horses are settled into the American soil nicely by now. There are still works to do, but so far the progress has been great." Kanemoto continued as all of them witnessed Black Rider surpassing the filly just by the finishing line. "Yes, I am witnessing that right now. We can continue to see our horses run, but I am given the understanding that you asked me here for other matters." Ma replied, happy with what he saw so far today. The two horses was in the process of slowing down for the break. "Of course, let's head into the office."
