02/05/23 We're almost ready to kick off the New Year here at Final Furlong! The New Years Sale is still OPEN for bids - lots of ponies needing homes! As well, we're hoping to close January Week One races by MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6. However, if we need to extend closing date so more people can get entered, just let us know in the Discord. In addition to getting your pages ready, don't forget to use your bonus points if you'd like!
01/29/23 Congratulations to KENREN for winning the Y21 Breeders' Cup Betting Contest! You've won a breeding reserve to FIFTY DREAMS (Firestone Stud) and 2x 2 furlong extensions + 5 bonus horse points! Lolly finished 2nd, and Cruisey finished 3rd.
12/08/22 The Breeder's Cup Betting Contest will make a return for Y21!!! It'll be a little bit different because of the new points system, but get ready for some end of year fun 😄

08/20/22 Judging has been the basis for issues for a long time - taking too long, drama regarding results, bias, etc. Kenren has attempted to put a points system together that keeps the spirit of our system while streamlining and standardizing the process. It's a lot to take in, but once you get in the swing of it, preparing pages with these points takes way less time than doing a layout change lol! If you have any questions, please post them in the judging-help channel on Discord for now. If anyone needs help with anything, please let an admin know! We would like to give everyone one week to get things settled, and then we would like to run July Wk 2 using this system closing 8/27/22 (or earlier if everyone is ready). If it works out, we would like to run two game weeks per RL week to get things moving! Thank you all so much for being her!e

07/21/22 it's official! We're back! It looks like June Wk 4 was almost fully judged, so make sure you get that updated if you hadn't! We will plan to close the next week (July Wk 1) on Thursday, August 4th. This close day may change, but it's not a bad place to start! For now we'll be doing one game week per RL week to get back into things. Please remember that starting the second half of the year, 3yos can compete against older horses without automatic lower placements.
As an aside, because this is fairly sudden after a whole year, we will not be allowing reclaims on horses for members not currently active for a few months. We will readdress this going forward if needed. Thank you all for understanding!

Akuma is usually quiet. Not quiet as in easy to ride, friendly or laid back, but quiet as in he doesn't have much to say. That's about all the 'quiet' word applies to with Akuma. This colt has a silent, deadly air about him that has the ability to send full grown men and stallions running. There's a lot more to Akuma than meets the eye, though. He has a soft spot for his the humans of the female gender, but never men. Until this brawny colt suffered an injury that nearly ended his career, Akuma didn't put out a great deal in his racing. He was usually more interested in taking down any horse that tried to past him, which usually resulted in a top four placing. But sometime during his recovery, Akuma seemed to realise who he was, and what he could achieve if he put in the necessary effort. He's still a brawny beast, but now he realises that racing isn't just about who is fastest, or strongest, but who comes out in first.

[X] Euphoria's Warrior is a retired Grade One stallion that was owned and raced by Star Thoroughbreds. He was the Y12 Best 3YO Colt and Y12 Colt of the Year. He had twenty five victories to his name like the Wood Memorial*, Belmont Stakes*, Climax Cup* and the the Dubai Colt Cup*, to name a few.[BREAK][BREAK]
[X] Lusitania's Soldier is a retired Grade One stallion that was owned and raced by Star Thoroughbreds. He retired with thirteen wins to his name and was the winner of the Flashpoint Derby* among others.[BREAK][BREAK]
[X] Aukmabuelle is a retired Grade One mare that was owned and raced by North Diamond Manor for the majority of her career. She did not have the typical start to her career. She was bred in Y10 by Triple Krown Racing, who went inactive and so the filly was lightly raced her juvenile and classic season. Purchased by her current owners in the middle of her classic season, she began to round out into the Grade One winner she is now, with fifteen victories to her name.[BREAK][BREAK]
[X] War Cry is a retired Grade One mare that was owned and raced by Star Thoroughbreds. She retired with thirteen wins to his name and was the winner of the BC Juvenile Fillies*, BC Distaff*, the Matron* & Humana Stakes* among others. Her final four year old season was the most brilliant sweeping legs of the Triple Tiara and taking the BC Distaff in her final race.[BREAK][BREAK]
[X] Battle Wings is a retired Grade One mare that was owned and raced by Stride of Perfection Stables. She retired with fifteen wins to his name and was the winner of the FTH Dirt Mile*, BC Juvenile Fillies*, Acorn Stakes*, the Coaching Club American Oaks* among many others. Her Classic season was the most brilliant, taking two of the three Triple Tiara legs.

Akuma has sired four foals to date and all of them have been grade one winners. He's batting 100% for all of his progeny and they have shown that even under adverse or unusual conditions, they have what it takes to make their mark. I definitely think that this guy's nomination has been long overdue.
