02/05/23 We're almost ready to kick off the New Year here at Final Furlong! The New Years Sale is still OPEN for bids - lots of ponies needing homes! As well, we're hoping to close January Week One races by MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6. However, if we need to extend closing date so more people can get entered, just let us know in the Discord. In addition to getting your pages ready, don't forget to use your bonus points if you'd like!
01/29/23 Congratulations to KENREN for winning the Y21 Breeders' Cup Betting Contest! You've won a breeding reserve to FIFTY DREAMS (Firestone Stud) and 2x 2 furlong extensions + 5 bonus horse points! Lolly finished 2nd, and Cruisey finished 3rd.
12/08/22 The Breeder's Cup Betting Contest will make a return for Y21!!! It'll be a little bit different because of the new points system, but get ready for some end of year fun 😄

08/20/22 Judging has been the basis for issues for a long time - taking too long, drama regarding results, bias, etc. Kenren has attempted to put a points system together that keeps the spirit of our system while streamlining and standardizing the process. It's a lot to take in, but once you get in the swing of it, preparing pages with these points takes way less time than doing a layout change lol! If you have any questions, please post them in the judging-help channel on Discord for now. If anyone needs help with anything, please let an admin know! We would like to give everyone one week to get things settled, and then we would like to run July Wk 2 using this system closing 8/27/22 (or earlier if everyone is ready). If it works out, we would like to run two game weeks per RL week to get things moving! Thank you all so much for being her!e

07/21/22 it's official! We're back! It looks like June Wk 4 was almost fully judged, so make sure you get that updated if you hadn't! We will plan to close the next week (July Wk 1) on Thursday, August 4th. This close day may change, but it's not a bad place to start! For now we'll be doing one game week per RL week to get back into things. Please remember that starting the second half of the year, 3yos can compete against older horses without automatic lower placements.
As an aside, because this is fairly sudden after a whole year, we will not be allowing reclaims on horses for members not currently active for a few months. We will readdress this going forward if needed. Thank you all for understanding!

The final gallop preparing the juveniles was upon them, three turf colts. Going a further ten furlongs, these three were going to head into their races as prepared as NDM could make them. The yearling favorite Frosted Sunrise was the best bred, and although anything could happen, he was the one with the best pedigree to take on the turf tracks. He’d flown through wins in his prospect season, guiding his trainers the best place to settle him when it came to finding his first races.
Superstition was the last Everyday Hero foal to race, and since his half sister Impress the Moonlight got into the HOF, Ty was taking on a huge load of expectations. He was going to be tried over dirt and turf, with only time being able to tell if he preferred one more than the other, of if he could take on anything with the same winning drive. He’d spent the morning spooking at everything, as if he’d never seen the basic things adorning the NDM tracks. He jutted to the side seeing Frost’s saddle pad flap, and was chosen to be first into the gates.
As he loaded, Wired shot up from the side, giving Chloe a run for her money as he showed how eager he was to get running. Head sky-high, the wild colt was akin to his dam in his free spirit. Frost snubbed the smaller colt, loading decently for once. He swished his tail and grunted, while Ty snorted. Wired barreled into his gate, bumping his nose on the door, so hot for the gallop Chloe had nearly tied herself to the saddle.
Bursting out when the doors opened, Wired screeched for the lead fast and hard. Frost had broken well, but didn’t challenge the other gray for the front. Setting a bit behind, Ty let the other colt ahead of him and came around to stalk at his flank, not seeming to be bothered there weren’t any horses behind him so long as he had some in front of him. Chloe was rating Wired hard at the front, this gallop wasn’t to be a blow out, likewise she didn’t want the cocky colt to burn himself out. Frost flicked his tail at Ty, warning the other colt not to get too close as his stride ate up the ground.
Ty was eyeing up his competition, looking to press harder for a stronger pace but Frost would have none of the intimidation, being stubborn to the core. Maintaining the pace his jockey put him on, Frost was firmly kept in check by Bryce, who had his eye on the finish line. Wired had tired himself enough he wasn’t flying off the handle, giving Chloe a chance to gauge him better and work out his striding to last through the ten furlongs. Not getting a rise out of his rival, Ty sprinted forward a bit early to try and get at Wired. Abigail brought the bay colt even with the front runner, who balked at having a challenger. As the two battled out a duel, Frost scooted to the side to go around as the final furlongs passed.
