02/05/23 We're almost ready to kick off the New Year here at Final Furlong! The New Years Sale is still OPEN for bids - lots of ponies needing homes! As well, we're hoping to close January Week One races by MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6. However, if we need to extend closing date so more people can get entered, just let us know in the Discord. In addition to getting your pages ready, don't forget to use your bonus points if you'd like!
01/29/23 Congratulations to KENREN for winning the Y21 Breeders' Cup Betting Contest! You've won a breeding reserve to FIFTY DREAMS (Firestone Stud) and 2x 2 furlong extensions + 5 bonus horse points! Lolly finished 2nd, and Cruisey finished 3rd.
12/08/22 The Breeder's Cup Betting Contest will make a return for Y21!!! It'll be a little bit different because of the new points system, but get ready for some end of year fun 😄

08/20/22 Judging has been the basis for issues for a long time - taking too long, drama regarding results, bias, etc. Kenren has attempted to put a points system together that keeps the spirit of our system while streamlining and standardizing the process. It's a lot to take in, but once you get in the swing of it, preparing pages with these points takes way less time than doing a layout change lol! If you have any questions, please post them in the judging-help channel on Discord for now. If anyone needs help with anything, please let an admin know! We would like to give everyone one week to get things settled, and then we would like to run July Wk 2 using this system closing 8/27/22 (or earlier if everyone is ready). If it works out, we would like to run two game weeks per RL week to get things moving! Thank you all so much for being her!e

07/21/22 it's official! We're back! It looks like June Wk 4 was almost fully judged, so make sure you get that updated if you hadn't! We will plan to close the next week (July Wk 1) on Thursday, August 4th. This close day may change, but it's not a bad place to start! For now we'll be doing one game week per RL week to get back into things. Please remember that starting the second half of the year, 3yos can compete against older horses without automatic lower placements.
As an aside, because this is fairly sudden after a whole year, we will not be allowing reclaims on horses for members not currently active for a few months. We will readdress this going forward if needed. Thank you all for understanding!

Hello everyone! It seems like it's come so fast - but the lease drawing event is coming to a close. With the end of March looming, it's time to wrap up those last races, collect ponies, and divvy up rewards. I hope those who participated enjoyed this little experiment, I sure did :3 Don't forget to update your registries as those ponies exchange hands once more.

Desert Sun - He has one final race week 4 at TW with me, and he is good to go! He's super close to getting that G1 win, I'm not sure if he has the stuff to go the full season at HOTY, but I gave him a go so he's got some exposure if you want to try. Otherwise he might make a nice little show pony.
Jacques Cousteau - All his races are in, I think he's been doing quite well mixing in the HOTY being at G2 still. I think he might have what it takes to keep competing there. ^-^ He's a good boy.
Rogue Prince - His time is complete with he, HE MADE GRADE ONE!!! :3 Super pumped. I'm on the fence whether I think he could get a hoofhold into HOTY this year, often my horses who look like him sit low the rest of the year and do better with another year, but you sure might be able to get him there if you want to try.
Thank you for taking care of my babies! The lot of them will be retiring after their final starts with you.
Rogue Prince: Will be available for stud in Y21. You have received a reserve to him if you wish .
Jacques Cousteau: As I said to you on discord, thank you for getting him a HOTY victory, in the Met Mile nonetheless! Definitely enhances his daddy quite a bit in my eyes . Since he's obviously gelded and now heading for the show ring, you may have a reserve to his paternal half-sister, Golden Envoy, for your efforts!
Desert Sun: I have one more week to ponder on a reserve to give you in exchange for your work with him, since he too is gelded and headed to the show ring.

CruiseyRoyal Witch has been a good girl. She's G2 now and has a good record this season too, with two wins and three thirds. She is not pending any results from me and is ready to return to you.
Kenren it was really nice to run an All For Glory son again XD Here's Truth Teller. He'll be ready to return to you once his race in wk4 at TW runs (which should be any minute now). He is one win off grade one!

I would definitely run another leasing event! I'm wondering if perhaps a June-September lease event would be fun? Let those summer slump kiddos find a different trainer. That would give us April and May to settle back with our ponehs and not overshadow the May sale. Unless we like it enough I could just start running the lease event Jan-Apr, May-Aug, Sep-Dec?

Isakins Isakins I'd love to take a reserve to Just Rewards I like the idea of a June-September lease event.
Isabelle: Thank you for the Coco reserve! I really, really enjoyed racing him. In exchange for Desert Sun, you may have a Taboo (Everyday Hero x Forbidden Wings) reserve. The only plans I have in the future are a Y23 baby for myself so she's pretty open going forward.
Classy Lady - She's so, so close! She's honestly had a perfectly respectable career if you're planning on retiring her, but if you do decide to run her the rest of the year I think she's got some wins left in her!
Twilight Reign - She's not totally sure what she wants to do with herself, I think. Like Classy Lady, I think she's done perfectly well enough to retire now, if that's the direction you're looking. She's a stubborn one that really appeals to me, but I think she may be the type to struggle in general but have flashes of brilliance. That being said, it's always hard to tell how things will be later on in the year, and she could surprise all of us!
Both of them have wk 4 results that you'll need to record as well :) Other than that, they're good to go home!
PS I'm also in favor of a later batch of leases June-September. That'd give us time to settle our stock back in and make decisions with them before shaking things up again! I think twice a year will be a fun way to play it.
ripley Thanks for working with him! Like we discussed, I'll be gelding him and running him the rest of the year before he likely retires and goes on to show. Given he's being gelded, I'd offer you another reserve, but I know you're playing it a little more freely xD So just hmu if you have a stallion that catches your eye, even if they're marked reserves only/private! I've got his page updated, so you're good to take him down.

Kenren Chu can have a reserve to both of them ^.^ Thankies. I agree I think Classy Lady should probably be able to pull it together, so I'll keep her going, at least until the end of June or July. She might make a nice candidate for mid-year retirement. I shall retire miss stinky butt Twilight. With fields so big these days I just don't see her coming back. Once mine starting hitting multiple 5ths and lower they just stay there. I'd wanted her to be my breakout Dynasty baby but it looks like she's got her own mind.

Woo oki I think what sounds like will be best is wait for summer so we aren't all squishy. What might work out best is if we do a summer lease and a winter lease. That'll give us time back with our ponehs and then time to arrange new leases. ^_^ I think I shall make it even more mysterious and have leasers PM me ponies in the future at first, so it really WILL be a surprise.
Summer Leasing ~ June-September (Have May to enter) Winter Leasing ~ December-March (Have November to enter)
April and October would be open months/not leasing and not entering.
