Races close on Mondays at 9PM EST! Our Next Sale Begins: January Y22.
02/05/23 We're almost ready to kick off the New Year here at Final Furlong! The New Years Sale is still OPEN for bids - lots of ponies needing homes! As well, we're hoping to close January Week One races by MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6. However, if we need to extend closing date so more people can get entered, just let us know in the Discord. In addition to getting your pages ready, don't forget to use your bonus points if you'd like!
01/29/23 Congratulations to KENREN for winning the Y21 Breeders' Cup Betting Contest! You've won a breeding reserve to FIFTY DREAMS (Firestone Stud) and 2x 2 furlong extensions + 5 bonus horse points! Lolly finished 2nd, and Cruisey finished 3rd.
12/08/22 The Breeder's Cup Betting Contest will make a return for Y21!!! It'll be a little bit different because of the new points system, but get ready for some end of year fun 😄
11/21/22 Entries for the New Year Sale are now open! We know it seems a bit early, but with life things we're going to need time to make sure things are right lol. Please follow the link here: https://final-furlong.proboards.com/thread/2304/y22-new-year-sale
08/20/22 Judging has been the basis for issues for a long time - taking too long, drama regarding results, bias, etc. Kenren has attempted to put a points system together that keeps the spirit of our system while streamlining and standardizing the process. It's a lot to take in, but once you get in the swing of it, preparing pages with these points takes way less time than doing a layout change lol! If you have any questions, please post them in the judging-help channel on Discord for now. If anyone needs help with anything, please let an admin know! We would like to give everyone one week to get things settled, and then we would like to run July Wk 2 using this system closing 8/27/22 (or earlier if everyone is ready). If it works out, we would like to run two game weeks per RL week to get things moving! Thank you all so much for being her!e
07/27/22 To start July off fresh, we've been playing around with a new theme for Final Furlong! Make sure to check out 'Sonorous' under your profile ❤️ Feel free to use whatever theme works best for yourself. We can't wait to get back to racing!
07/21/22 it's official! We're back! It looks like June Wk 4 was almost fully judged, so make sure you get that updated if you hadn't! We will plan to close the next week (July Wk 1) on Thursday, August 4th. This close day may change, but it's not a bad place to start! For now we'll be doing one game week per RL week to get back into things. Please remember that starting the second half of the year, 3yos can compete against older horses without automatic lower placements.
As an aside, because this is fairly sudden after a whole year, we will not be allowing reclaims on horses for members not currently active for a few months. We will readdress this going forward if needed. Thank you all for understanding!
07/08/22 GO answer the poll ❤️ https://final-furlong.proboards.com/thread/2232/ff-restart-poll
Over the weekend the stable owner of KC Racing (Kim Kenny) and head trainer (John Murchison) visited their business partner and major investor in the breeding shares of their horses - Kennington Farm. Six mares had been bred last year to give birth to Y17 foals that could potentially be champions when they start their career on the track in Y19. Meet the new faces of Kennington Farm (and soon to be KC Racing) below!
A True Hero - Mardi Gras '18 - It's a boy! Mardi Gras will not be bred for a Y19 foal.
This adorable chestnut colt is the very first foal by the recently retired A True Hero. You'll quickly find that this colt is practically Hollywood royalty through his sire. A True Hero (G1) is sired by a HOF/BHOF and out of HOF mare giving him top-of-the-line regal bloodlines. Mardi Gras, although a 1st Generation mare was a sound racer and her legacy continues on through her full siblings, a juvenile colt (Party O'War) and a 4 year old mare (Partyatthedisco) - both of which have done well thus far. We've decided to name this little guy Daredevil as nothing spooks this youngster. His dam had quite a difficult time foaling him as this foal weighed in at about 135 lbs at birth. He makes absolutely certain he gets all of his milk throughout the day and has been known to try and siphon milk from other mares as well only to be chased off moments later.
Muggathugga - Charismatic '18 - It's a boy! Charismatic will be bred back to Muggathugga for a Y19 foal.
The ever handsome and consistent Muggathugga is finally a father after having raced for four years in KC Racing's colors. It was difficult for the stable to finally retire their founding stallion and racehorse, but his legacy continues on with his first foal - and son on the ground. This colt inherited his sire's pleasing personality, but with his mother's brilliant red coat. He's an incredibly delight to be around and we're hoping he will follow in his sire's footsteps when he makes his debut. The colt has been named Hooligan as a tribute to his sire.
Majestic Hero - Carabella '18 - It's a boy! Carabella will not be bred for a Y19 foal.
A True Hero isn't the only Everyday Hero son in the spotlight for Kennington Farm. The red stallion's half-brother and CORONATION CUP* winner sired his first foal out of Carabella this year. The unusually white mare continues her 'snow streak' with yet another white foal (she birthed a dominant white filly - now named Snowbird - last year). This is the mare's very first colt and he is definitely giving his dam a run for her money. The colt has been named Jormungandr and will be sure to make an impact both on and off the track in Y20.
Baciami - Silverianna '18 - It's a boy! We have yet to decide who Silverianna will breed to for Y19.
Y16's Broodmare to Watch and Y11's Best 3 Year Old Filly delivers a baby of a different color by Baciami. The colt - named Mauricio - is a bundle of seemingly endless energy and spends his mornings tearing across the paddocks, annoying the other mares and giving his mother hell. Unsurprisingly, he seems to be good friends with Carabella's colt.
Sweet Sugar Cane - Daydream '18 - It's a girl! Daydream will not be bred for a Y19 foal.
Finally a filly for Kennington Farm - a first for this Aces Diamond Rio mare. The filly, Sweet Reverie, is by Sweet Sugar Cane and has all the makings of a sprinter. The foal was born a bit earlier than usual and is a bit smaller than the race of Y18 crop but that doesn't stop the filly from showing the colts who is boss. She's not an ill-tempered filly (we have her dam to thank for that) and is always looking for ways to please the people.
Super Sparky - Jonesing'18 - It's a girl! We have not yet decided who we will breed Jonesing to for Y19.
And yes, another girl for Kennington Farm. This will be the first Super Sparky foal we've bred that we will not be selling. Super Sparky is the most popular stud at Kennington Farm with the majority of people that visit us booking their mares to him even when higher classed, higher earning stallions are available such as the Augusto grandson - Apollo Bear. Yet Super Sparky's foals give and give and inherit not only his loving personality and competitiveness on the track but his brilliant red coat as well. Shyish, as the filly is called, is exactly that, however. She's incredibly timid and sticks to her mother's side like glue on most days. She'd sooner climb a tree then be handled. Nevertheless, she's a dainty little thing that has quickly become one of the favorites of this year's crop.
Expect foals from the following mares in Year 19 Silent Heart
Oui Oui Merci - dam of Foolish Lass, 2nd in Marylander Stakes* Tricky Cat - dam of Unicorn Horn Juvenile Turf Sprint* winner, Speedy Tomcat Sylvanite - 1.5M in earnings, Maryland Derby Winner* (will be bred to Autumn Storm - sire of Breeders' Cup winner Dark Charmer)
