Races close on Mondays at 9PM EST! Our Next Sale Begins: January Y22.
02/05/23 We're almost ready to kick off the New Year here at Final Furlong! The New Years Sale is still OPEN for bids - lots of ponies needing homes! As well, we're hoping to close January Week One races by MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6. However, if we need to extend closing date so more people can get entered, just let us know in the Discord. In addition to getting your pages ready, don't forget to use your bonus points if you'd like!
01/29/23 Congratulations to KENREN for winning the Y21 Breeders' Cup Betting Contest! You've won a breeding reserve to FIFTY DREAMS (Firestone Stud) and 2x 2 furlong extensions + 5 bonus horse points! Lolly finished 2nd, and Cruisey finished 3rd.
12/08/22 The Breeder's Cup Betting Contest will make a return for Y21!!! It'll be a little bit different because of the new points system, but get ready for some end of year fun 😄
11/21/22 Entries for the New Year Sale are now open! We know it seems a bit early, but with life things we're going to need time to make sure things are right lol. Please follow the link here: https://final-furlong.proboards.com/thread/2304/y22-new-year-sale
08/20/22 Judging has been the basis for issues for a long time - taking too long, drama regarding results, bias, etc. Kenren has attempted to put a points system together that keeps the spirit of our system while streamlining and standardizing the process. It's a lot to take in, but once you get in the swing of it, preparing pages with these points takes way less time than doing a layout change lol! If you have any questions, please post them in the judging-help channel on Discord for now. If anyone needs help with anything, please let an admin know! We would like to give everyone one week to get things settled, and then we would like to run July Wk 2 using this system closing 8/27/22 (or earlier if everyone is ready). If it works out, we would like to run two game weeks per RL week to get things moving! Thank you all so much for being her!e
07/27/22 To start July off fresh, we've been playing around with a new theme for Final Furlong! Make sure to check out 'Sonorous' under your profile ❤️ Feel free to use whatever theme works best for yourself. We can't wait to get back to racing!
07/21/22 it's official! We're back! It looks like June Wk 4 was almost fully judged, so make sure you get that updated if you hadn't! We will plan to close the next week (July Wk 1) on Thursday, August 4th. This close day may change, but it's not a bad place to start! For now we'll be doing one game week per RL week to get back into things. Please remember that starting the second half of the year, 3yos can compete against older horses without automatic lower placements.
As an aside, because this is fairly sudden after a whole year, we will not be allowing reclaims on horses for members not currently active for a few months. We will readdress this going forward if needed. Thank you all for understanding!
07/08/22 GO answer the poll ❤️ https://final-furlong.proboards.com/thread/2232/ff-restart-poll
Welcome, everyone, to the Year Nineteen New Years Sale! Please also check out the Horses of Racing Age ring, as they will be running simultaneously. The catalog can be found here. Please also review the Conditions of Sale. The structure will be as follows:
Each horse will receive 12 hours in the ring. The dates and times for each horse will be listed in a schedule below. These times are in EDT so please convert them to your own time zone accordingly. When the closing time comes (aka when the next horse is due into the ring), any later bids will not be considered. This includes even a second over, so snipe last second at your own risk! Any staff member may introduce the next horse into the ring when the time comes. Anyone can bid on any horse as long as they are eligible, not just those that showed interest in the pre-sale interest thread.
+ Starting bids will be what is stated in the catalog. + If the starting bid is under $100,000, the bid must go in $10,000 increments. If the starting bid is over $100,000, the bid must go in $50,000 increments. + You do not need to wait for the 'auctioneer' to make the next bid. + Admins have the right to refuse a top bidder if issues arise + After bidding ends, please go to the Sales Office, where buyers will post the new links and staff will move the money. Please do not do this through the donation button so we can be sure everyone gets paid. + Horses go to the highest bidder unless there is an issue, in which case the horse goes back to the consignor. + Remember the new buyer limit rules in the Conditions of Sale/Sales Rules! This will be monitored.
Hip 001 - Radiant Silver b. c. by Radiance, out of Silver Stalker
First hip into the ring is a very solid young stallion, unproven as a sire but already with one foal on the ground, a yearling colt you'll see later in the sale by the name of Naturally Radiant. Radiant Silver himself is a grade one winner of 19 races, including the Senior Dirt Marathon* and the Quality Road Stakes* as well as 7 other HOTY races. If his race record alone isn't enough to entice you, he's got an exceptional pedigree for the discerning line collector. Through Hall of Famer Radiance, this stallion is a half to grade one winners such as Noadiance, Radiation Therapy, Adrasteia (Mother Goose Stakes*, Oklahoma Derby*, etc.), and Reflected In Water (Mother Goose Stakes*, Dr. Fager Red Mile*, etc.), as well as BC Juvenile Fillies* winner Radiant Heat. Radiant Silver is out of Intrepid mare Silver Stalker, a G1 daughter of Night Stalker who herself won the Mother Goose Stakes* among others. Seeing a trend? This could be a phenomenal dirt-filly-producing stallion. Silver Stalker also produced the strong HOTY juvenile Pursuit Of War. This is a very good recent family!
Hip 007 - My Kingdom Come gr/rn. f. by Created, out of Created
From created lines, this mare proved herself well and truly on the track. On top of having a truly wonderful final season, where she won seven races (five of them HOTY), she won nineteen races throughout her career and finish second is such races as the So Sassy Sprint*. This filly was a turf sprinter, and should throw foals of equal preference - a great catch for any breeding program! She has no foals to date, and is therefore a blank slate.
Please note, the foal listed on her page has been deleted by the sire owner.
Hip 009 - Seattle Sun b. c. by City Streets (CR), out of Blue Sunshine (CR)
Seattle Sun is a freshly lined stallion that only reached grade four, but he still nabbed a win in the Boys' Festival*. He placed in nine other HOTY* races, including a second in the BC Turf Sprint* and a 3rd in the Highway Stakes*. Seattle Sun is half to up-and-comer Desert Sun, winner of seven races this year, through the dam. This stallion has three foals, which include the good G3 runner True Sunrise and HOTY-winning two-year-old City Lights. He's a fresh and oncoming stallion with a lot of potential for the right farm!
Hip 011 - Snapdragon ch. c. by Silent Snap, out of Dark Maiden
This is a wonderfully bred coming yearling from the semi-dispersal of Highgrove Thoroughbreds, consigned by Stride of Perfection Stables. Silent Snap is an exciting young stallion with a number of young foals on the ground, with none to race. He was a strong HOTY competitor, with classic wins in the Triple Sprinter Crown races Red Wine Sprint* and Speedway Stakes*. The dam Dark Maiden is also young with no foals to race, and retired a respectable G1 mare. This is a hot young line, and a very exciting prospect!
Hip 015 - All That Jazz bl. f. by Jazzman, out of Dark Sunrise
This is a lovely mare from old bloodlines, and as both foals listed on her page have been deleted, she is a completely blank slate! She is a grade two runner that did her best running at two, though somewhat suffered from light racing later in her career. Through her parents she is half to the likes of G3 Just A Trot Futurity* winner Jazzaway (sire of classic winner Bohemian Rhapsody), G3 stallion Livin' The Jazz, and wonderful HOTY horse In My Remains. She is a dual-running, router-type broodmare, and her lines have a lot to offer stables both new and old!
Hip 028 - Naturally Radiant b. c. by Radiant Silver, out of Naturally Charismatic
Feel like you missed out on our well-connected first hip, Radiant Silver? Well, here's your chance at his first foal! This yearling colt is a looker, never you doubt. Please refer to hip one's write-up for a refresher on this colt's paternal relations. The dam, Naturally Charismatic, retired a respectable grade three mare who ran heavily in HOTY fields. Naturally Charismatic is half to such winners as Hall of Famer Wildly Natural, Hall of Famer Born To Soar, proven sire The Rising, grade one Ramirez, exceptional dirt horse and Belmont Stakes* winner Ultimate Revenge, and grade one Knight Rousseau. Her only foal to race is Truly Captivating, a grade five coming-three-year-old.
Hip 029 - No Reservations gr/rn. c. by Created, out of Created
This lovely stallion from Firestone Stud is a wonderful treat! While he was not an exceptional racehorse, that should not turn away potential buyers - some of the best producers do their best work in the breeding shed! This stallion has three foals, including good HOTY competitor Wired and juvenile winner of four HOTY races Mudslide. He's already proven himself, and his oldest foals are just now turning three! This is an exciting young stallion with a lot of foals left in him, so don't miss out!
Hip 034 - Ladies' Man gr/rn. c. by Created, out of Created
From the dispersal of Nightwatch Racing, we bring you their foundation stallion. Ladies' Man is a dual miler, with one foal on the ground to date. This is Infatuation, run by Rochemont Equine Institute. While she only had a brief juvenile season, she's got a full career ahead of her, and is sure to be a great predecessor to any upcoming siblings!
