Races close on Mondays at 9PM EST! Our Next Sale Begins: January Y22.
02/05/23 We're almost ready to kick off the New Year here at Final Furlong! The New Years Sale is still OPEN for bids - lots of ponies needing homes! As well, we're hoping to close January Week One races by MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6. However, if we need to extend closing date so more people can get entered, just let us know in the Discord. In addition to getting your pages ready, don't forget to use your bonus points if you'd like!
01/29/23 Congratulations to KENREN for winning the Y21 Breeders' Cup Betting Contest! You've won a breeding reserve to FIFTY DREAMS (Firestone Stud) and 2x 2 furlong extensions + 5 bonus horse points! Lolly finished 2nd, and Cruisey finished 3rd.
12/08/22 The Breeder's Cup Betting Contest will make a return for Y21!!! It'll be a little bit different because of the new points system, but get ready for some end of year fun 😄
11/21/22 Entries for the New Year Sale are now open! We know it seems a bit early, but with life things we're going to need time to make sure things are right lol. Please follow the link here: https://final-furlong.proboards.com/thread/2304/y22-new-year-sale
08/20/22 Judging has been the basis for issues for a long time - taking too long, drama regarding results, bias, etc. Kenren has attempted to put a points system together that keeps the spirit of our system while streamlining and standardizing the process. It's a lot to take in, but once you get in the swing of it, preparing pages with these points takes way less time than doing a layout change lol! If you have any questions, please post them in the judging-help channel on Discord for now. If anyone needs help with anything, please let an admin know! We would like to give everyone one week to get things settled, and then we would like to run July Wk 2 using this system closing 8/27/22 (or earlier if everyone is ready). If it works out, we would like to run two game weeks per RL week to get things moving! Thank you all so much for being her!e
07/27/22 To start July off fresh, we've been playing around with a new theme for Final Furlong! Make sure to check out 'Sonorous' under your profile ❤️ Feel free to use whatever theme works best for yourself. We can't wait to get back to racing!
07/21/22 it's official! We're back! It looks like June Wk 4 was almost fully judged, so make sure you get that updated if you hadn't! We will plan to close the next week (July Wk 1) on Thursday, August 4th. This close day may change, but it's not a bad place to start! For now we'll be doing one game week per RL week to get back into things. Please remember that starting the second half of the year, 3yos can compete against older horses without automatic lower placements.
As an aside, because this is fairly sudden after a whole year, we will not be allowing reclaims on horses for members not currently active for a few months. We will readdress this going forward if needed. Thank you all for understanding!
07/08/22 GO answer the poll ❤️ https://final-furlong.proboards.com/thread/2232/ff-restart-poll
Hip 017 - Bizarre Redemption b. f. by Bizarre Act, out of Gift Of Redemption
This lovely coming-four-year-old is another Ar Y Ffin homebred, and at grade three, she had a spectacular Y18 and is looking to have an even better Y19! This filly has done very well in the seasonal cups, so she also has some HOTY experience under her belt. She is half to hip 13 Winter Act through the sire, and further connections can be read over in that post. Through the dam this filly is half to such runners as wonderful juvenile War of Redemption, winner of five HOTY races this year and runner-up in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile**. If one wanted a project to peak in the next two years, this filly is a great one!
Hip 018 - City of Ruins dk b/br. c. by Worldbreaker, out of Electric City
This colt is going into his classic year, and is a nice mixture of both old and proven lines and fresh, created ones. He had a serviceable juvenile season, running second in the maiden Stable Face Off, and should improve with maturity. Through the sire he is related to HOTY winner Shatter, Breeders' Stakes* winner Altercation, Belmont Turf Classic* and Breeders' Cup Turf Marathon* winner World Dominion, Duchess Stakes* winner Peacebreaker, and HOTY-winning juvenile War of the Worlds. This is Electric City's first foal to race.
Hip 019 - Devilish Fox ch. c. by Created, out of Created
If you were on the lookout for a project, this colt would be a great one! This grade four coming-four-year-old has been lightly raced but has a lot of potential. He runs over both surfaces, and runs 6-9 furlongs.
Hip 020 - Fever Pitch ch. f. by Justa Muffin, out of Scarlet Fever
Next into the ring is a lovely coming-five-year-old with a nice base and another two years left to run! She started her career at three, where she ran very consistently, and had a full four-year-old-season to get her to grade three. The sire is from nice, old lines, and through him this filly is half to the likes of inconsistently raced but HOTY-winner Get Loose, HOTY winner Justa Little Cutie, and strong late-blooming competitor Just A Song. The dam also has a number of foals to race, including So Far Afar and HOTY winner Viva Fever. She's a lovely combination of old and new, and has a solid base for a new owner to work with!
Hip 021 - Flight Fever dk b/br. c. by Flying Solo, out of Scarlet Fever
You've seen the older sibling, and now you're getting the younger brother! This colt out of the same dam as the last hip, so you can read of her connections there. This coming-juvenile is by the proven stallion Flying Solo, who himself was a lovely late-blooming HOTY horse. He has also sired So Sassy Sprint* and Butter Cup Sprint* winner Final Velocity, HOTY winner Wayward Lass, and good HOTY juvenile Windfallen. This is a very strong family, and thus a very strong prospect for any stable!
Hip 022 - Imitation Silver gr/rn. f. by Imitation Black, out of On The Fly
Next up is a new juvenile racing prospect from New Hope Pastures. Imitation Black was a lightly raced horse, but we've seen plenty of that type of stallion do very well in the breeding shed. He is the sire of a number of foals, but only one to race. That foal, Imitations Love, is inconsistently raced but has shown flashes of being a very good racehorse throughout her long career. Through the dam, this filly is half to the likes of Grand Revival and Orpheus. With some TLC, this filly could grow to surpass either side of her line! It's definitely a fun sort of project pedigree!
