Races close on Mondays at 9PM EST! Our Next Sale Begins: January Y22.
02/05/23 We're almost ready to kick off the New Year here at Final Furlong! The New Years Sale is still OPEN for bids - lots of ponies needing homes! As well, we're hoping to close January Week One races by MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6. However, if we need to extend closing date so more people can get entered, just let us know in the Discord. In addition to getting your pages ready, don't forget to use your bonus points if you'd like!
01/29/23 Congratulations to KENREN for winning the Y21 Breeders' Cup Betting Contest! You've won a breeding reserve to FIFTY DREAMS (Firestone Stud) and 2x 2 furlong extensions + 5 bonus horse points! Lolly finished 2nd, and Cruisey finished 3rd.
12/08/22 The Breeder's Cup Betting Contest will make a return for Y21!!! It'll be a little bit different because of the new points system, but get ready for some end of year fun 😄
11/21/22 Entries for the New Year Sale are now open! We know it seems a bit early, but with life things we're going to need time to make sure things are right lol. Please follow the link here: https://final-furlong.proboards.com/thread/2304/y22-new-year-sale
08/20/22 Judging has been the basis for issues for a long time - taking too long, drama regarding results, bias, etc. Kenren has attempted to put a points system together that keeps the spirit of our system while streamlining and standardizing the process. It's a lot to take in, but once you get in the swing of it, preparing pages with these points takes way less time than doing a layout change lol! If you have any questions, please post them in the judging-help channel on Discord for now. If anyone needs help with anything, please let an admin know! We would like to give everyone one week to get things settled, and then we would like to run July Wk 2 using this system closing 8/27/22 (or earlier if everyone is ready). If it works out, we would like to run two game weeks per RL week to get things moving! Thank you all so much for being her!e
07/27/22 To start July off fresh, we've been playing around with a new theme for Final Furlong! Make sure to check out 'Sonorous' under your profile ❤️ Feel free to use whatever theme works best for yourself. We can't wait to get back to racing!
07/21/22 it's official! We're back! It looks like June Wk 4 was almost fully judged, so make sure you get that updated if you hadn't! We will plan to close the next week (July Wk 1) on Thursday, August 4th. This close day may change, but it's not a bad place to start! For now we'll be doing one game week per RL week to get back into things. Please remember that starting the second half of the year, 3yos can compete against older horses without automatic lower placements.
As an aside, because this is fairly sudden after a whole year, we will not be allowing reclaims on horses for members not currently active for a few months. We will readdress this going forward if needed. Thank you all for understanding!
07/08/22 GO answer the poll ❤️ https://final-furlong.proboards.com/thread/2232/ff-restart-poll
IN STRIDE HANDICAP* - 9F - 2YO - OPEN FIRST Mudslide SECOND Tainted Love THIRD Call To Arms FOURTH City Of Ruins FIFTH/DQ My Secretariat - Dirt preferred
There was actually an announcement saying that rule wouldn't come into play until Feb. But thanks for letting me know, at least I know there's nothing wrong with him
Lolly My juvis were penalized week 2 for racing weeks 1 and 2, that was the first I heard of this new rule. Generally there's never anything "wrong" with horses, so I don't think you need to worry about that.

Isabelle This rule was sort of unwritten, however it was stated on Discord that racing juveniles back to back without penalty would not be put into effect until February Week 1.
Running Mad Maiden - 9F - M WIN Fallen Angel PLACE Sahadev SHOW Admonish fourth Running Through Fire
Running Through Fire needs a YOB on his page :) The top two struck me as able to handle the odd pace set-up the best, as everyone pretty much bunched together to 'lead' and Running Through Fire didn't have any pace to speak of to give him an edge.
Le Reve Derby - 9F - G3 WIN Tuff E'Nuff PLACE Knight's Ransom SHOW Rough Boy
I'd personally keep Knight's Random to turf given how much he seems to prefer it and how much back class he has over it. But I do think he can do well over dirt as well with some work!

True Heart Prospect - 12F - P win Battle Bluez place Without A Trace
Running Hard Maiden - 9F - M win Desert Sun place Handsome Loon show One Might Wonder (optional DQ - incomplete workout) DQ: Cultural Passion (no workout)
Cruisey I'm very sorry I missed that, I had not been in discord for some time. I do not use it often as I need to open a new internet browser specifically so that it can run. Some may use it daily for lots of communication but unfortunately I do not as it is too troublesome to operate. I went and read it now, so if you wish to DQ my results and do them please do so, but I was not aware of the entire situation when I judged the race.
SILVER STRIDE STAKES* - 9F - 2YO - OPEN FIRST Party O'War SECOND Flash Fire THIRD Radiant Heat FOURTH Inner Storm FIFTH Gala Royale SIXTH Ivonette
This was all front runners/preceders save Ivonette. Being new to racing I believe the gangly juveniles were a bit hot and not pacing as experienced racers would, which made the beginning half a bit of a messy jumble as everyone fought for a leading position. As per norm with these first races, it's not really easy to put anybody anywhere. My thoughts for each:
Party O'War-Close for him with the others breathing down his neck, he was thrown out of the lead several times but I felt he had a good head to focus for the win.
Flash Fire-Not as phased by the hotter pace her softer nature kept her up near the leaders. She wasn't burning herself as the next few were to try and get the lead, she was able to wait more for her chance.
Radiant Heat-Had a happier position around the preceder area she did vie pretty hard at the end for the win.
Inner Storm-He and Party O'War went at it quite fiercely for most of the race, being around such a huge compact crowd got him pretty hot. Not able to hold a formal lead position I saw his confidence being shaken at seeing so much of his opponent.
Gala Royale-You might want to re-read his racing style, it says he dislikes the middle of the pack, and yet he's featured as mid pack/preceder. Seeing his dislike of being of the middle, he was unfortunately stuck amidst a lot of horses, similar to Ivonette unable to get through the field and unhappy where he was.
Ivonette-Stuck at the back with a raging group ahead of her, there was just no opportunity for her to move forward. Given her strong desire for the lead, I feel she would have sulked back at her position and not listened much to her rider to try and swing wide, per her disobedient nature.
