Races close on Mondays at 9PM EST! Our Next Sale Begins: January Y22.
02/05/23 We're almost ready to kick off the New Year here at Final Furlong! The New Years Sale is still OPEN for bids - lots of ponies needing homes! As well, we're hoping to close January Week One races by MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6. However, if we need to extend closing date so more people can get entered, just let us know in the Discord. In addition to getting your pages ready, don't forget to use your bonus points if you'd like!
01/29/23 Congratulations to KENREN for winning the Y21 Breeders' Cup Betting Contest! You've won a breeding reserve to FIFTY DREAMS (Firestone Stud) and 2x 2 furlong extensions + 5 bonus horse points! Lolly finished 2nd, and Cruisey finished 3rd.
12/08/22 The Breeder's Cup Betting Contest will make a return for Y21!!! It'll be a little bit different because of the new points system, but get ready for some end of year fun 😄
11/21/22 Entries for the New Year Sale are now open! We know it seems a bit early, but with life things we're going to need time to make sure things are right lol. Please follow the link here: https://final-furlong.proboards.com/thread/2304/y22-new-year-sale
08/20/22 Judging has been the basis for issues for a long time - taking too long, drama regarding results, bias, etc. Kenren has attempted to put a points system together that keeps the spirit of our system while streamlining and standardizing the process. It's a lot to take in, but once you get in the swing of it, preparing pages with these points takes way less time than doing a layout change lol! If you have any questions, please post them in the judging-help channel on Discord for now. If anyone needs help with anything, please let an admin know! We would like to give everyone one week to get things settled, and then we would like to run July Wk 2 using this system closing 8/27/22 (or earlier if everyone is ready). If it works out, we would like to run two game weeks per RL week to get things moving! Thank you all so much for being her!e
07/27/22 To start July off fresh, we've been playing around with a new theme for Final Furlong! Make sure to check out 'Sonorous' under your profile ❤️ Feel free to use whatever theme works best for yourself. We can't wait to get back to racing!
07/21/22 it's official! We're back! It looks like June Wk 4 was almost fully judged, so make sure you get that updated if you hadn't! We will plan to close the next week (July Wk 1) on Thursday, August 4th. This close day may change, but it's not a bad place to start! For now we'll be doing one game week per RL week to get back into things. Please remember that starting the second half of the year, 3yos can compete against older horses without automatic lower placements.
As an aside, because this is fairly sudden after a whole year, we will not be allowing reclaims on horses for members not currently active for a few months. We will readdress this going forward if needed. Thank you all for understanding!
07/08/22 GO answer the poll ❤️ https://final-furlong.proboards.com/thread/2232/ff-restart-poll
Personality: Living up to his name entirely Tricky Ricky, as he is know around the barn, is the most cunning and mischievous colt. He is quite unpredictable and always bound to act up one way or another. Either explosive and full of energy, or dragging his feet half asleep. It takes quite a lot of experience and time spent with Ricky to be able to predict his mood. But no matter what mood he is in he will always be up to some trouble. Chewing things that shouldn't be chewed, pushing things, stepping on things, kicking things, wiping slobber on things. He is quite fond of leaving slobbery messes on whoever dares approach him. He can be quite a handful to handle and he is quite picky with who he likes. He does not hesitate to send a well aimed kick towards those his is displeased with. It has, in fact, happened several times and the staff now have to be very careful when introducing new people to Ricky.
On the track Ricky tends to be easily distracted, either by other horses or his surroundings. He usually wears blinkers and his jockey has to be on high alert to keep him focused. Because of this his jockey will push him right from the gate to the front of the pack. Once the distractions have ceased Ricky will pour his heart into the race. He loves running and its very clear to see when he races.

Basics
Name: Caramel Crunch
YOB: Y20
Gender: Filly
Color: Chestnut
Height: 15.3hh
Pedigree: Foundation x Foundation
Personality: Caramel Crunch, a sweet name for a not so sweet horse. This little filly fooled everyone as a baby, she started out curious and friendly but she quickly began to change. Moody and nothing short of aggressive Crunchy is the horse most everyone avoids in the barn. She bares her teeth at anyone or anyhorse that gets close enough. The only people she'll allow close without throwing a fit are her jockey and groom, who both have worked hard to earn her favor with many carrots and cookies. She hates crowds and noise and they agitate even more than usual. Loading in the gate is always a struggle for her and she either has to go first or last so she can avoid other horses. Crunchy usually breaks unsteadily as she always tries to zigzag into other horses. But once she finishes goofing off she can really set her mind on the race. Forgetting the other horses she always tries to take the lead but her jockey holds her back, knowing better. Crunchy exhausts herself too much when she tries to take the lead because she starts focusing more on the horses next to her. Her jockey holds her back until the homestretch and then lets her go.

Name: Lucerne
YOB: Y20
Gender: Filly
Color: Grey
Height: 16.1hh
Pedigree: Foundation x Foundation
Personality: Lucerne is the kind of horse that gives everything. Willing and eager to please, Lucy always tries her best at everything. She has a calm and sweet disposition, always searching for a head scratch or hug. She loves human attention and is happy to spend hours around her favorite people. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body and never once has she thrown a fit. She is quite smart and very attentive, doing whatever you ask and always trying her best. Lucy doesn't enjoy being around horses and she will pin her ears when she gets to close to others but that's as far as her displeasure goes. On the track she gets very excited and is quite competitive. She doesn't like horses passing her and will fight for the lead. The track is the only place where you don't have to ask for anything from her. She gives her all in every race. Lucy likes to break fast and stay in the lead. She needs little urging from her jockey and often has to be held back so she doesn't waste her energy.
