Rock n' Rollin' 3 Year Olds at KCRS
April Y18 Update

The major distance crowns and tiaras are upon us and while many stables have a plethora of horses to offer up for the challenge, KCRS only has one contender for the turf triple crown. Our three year old crop may be small but they're redeeming in their own rights. Whether they're on the verge of success or struggling we're there for our horses every step of the way. We've seen these horses from their very first debut as juveniles and here's how they're doing now.



LOUISIANA BLUES
Lulu has finally returned to her rightful home at KC Racing after
training with Montgomery Acres for her juvenile season. KCRS had sent
off some of their juveniles last year to be trained consistently while the stableowner
finished her college education. Lulu has returned and has had a 2 month layoff but is ready
 to brave her competition once again. For now she will only be directed to undercards for
the remainder of the year until she gets back into the KCRS training regime. She will undoubtedly
remain in the undercards next year for a time as well due to her sweet personality and tendency to avoid
conflict on the track.



OH THE IRONY
The three year old Comeuppance daughter and Magic Millions Fillies Turf winner has 
returned with a vengeance to the track after recovering from an injury last year. For now 
this lovely lady will take up refuge in the undercards and hopefully she'll find common 
ground that way. She'll hopefully make a return to familiar HOTY grounds once she's 4 or 5.
In the near distantfuture she may be offered in foal as a broodmare if approved.



RISING WONDER
The three year old star of our Y15 crop would be yet another foal from sleeper hit sire The Rising. This
 talented boy was elected Best G3 last year as a juvenile and is rapidly approaching the G1-level. He's been training
up for the Turf Triple Crown and has already shipped off to GHF in preparation for the Kentucky Open
later this week. We can only pray that he meets expectations and goes above and beyond in order to keep
up with the favorites. Out of his 23 starts he's only placed out of the money once with over $2M in earnings.
No matter what happens, he'll take a month off in July and began racing against older horses in preparation for the
World Turf Cup and Breeders' Cup to reclaim his title in the marathon. We're hoping he'll be strong enough to remain
just as consistent next year.



ICARUS FLIGHT
Dirt sprinter princess from and out of SOPS royally bred horses. Although her bid for
the triple sprinter tiara isn't until August. After the sprinters she'll be introduced to
older horses again (although she's familiar with them after a race earlier in the year)
so she'll always come in strong for her 4th, 5th and 6th year old seasons.  She will 
no doubt challenge the BC again against fellow fillies and mares.
