Races close on Mondays at 9PM EST! Our Next Sale Begins: January Y22.
02/05/23 We're almost ready to kick off the New Year here at Final Furlong! The New Years Sale is still OPEN for bids - lots of ponies needing homes! As well, we're hoping to close January Week One races by MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6. However, if we need to extend closing date so more people can get entered, just let us know in the Discord. In addition to getting your pages ready, don't forget to use your bonus points if you'd like!
01/29/23 Congratulations to KENREN for winning the Y21 Breeders' Cup Betting Contest! You've won a breeding reserve to FIFTY DREAMS (Firestone Stud) and 2x 2 furlong extensions + 5 bonus horse points! Lolly finished 2nd, and Cruisey finished 3rd.
12/08/22 The Breeder's Cup Betting Contest will make a return for Y21!!! It'll be a little bit different because of the new points system, but get ready for some end of year fun 😄
11/21/22 Entries for the New Year Sale are now open! We know it seems a bit early, but with life things we're going to need time to make sure things are right lol. Please follow the link here: https://final-furlong.proboards.com/thread/2304/y22-new-year-sale
08/20/22 Judging has been the basis for issues for a long time - taking too long, drama regarding results, bias, etc. Kenren has attempted to put a points system together that keeps the spirit of our system while streamlining and standardizing the process. It's a lot to take in, but once you get in the swing of it, preparing pages with these points takes way less time than doing a layout change lol! If you have any questions, please post them in the judging-help channel on Discord for now. If anyone needs help with anything, please let an admin know! We would like to give everyone one week to get things settled, and then we would like to run July Wk 2 using this system closing 8/27/22 (or earlier if everyone is ready). If it works out, we would like to run two game weeks per RL week to get things moving! Thank you all so much for being her!e
07/27/22 To start July off fresh, we've been playing around with a new theme for Final Furlong! Make sure to check out 'Sonorous' under your profile ❤️ Feel free to use whatever theme works best for yourself. We can't wait to get back to racing!
07/21/22 it's official! We're back! It looks like June Wk 4 was almost fully judged, so make sure you get that updated if you hadn't! We will plan to close the next week (July Wk 1) on Thursday, August 4th. This close day may change, but it's not a bad place to start! For now we'll be doing one game week per RL week to get back into things. Please remember that starting the second half of the year, 3yos can compete against older horses without automatic lower placements.
As an aside, because this is fairly sudden after a whole year, we will not be allowing reclaims on horses for members not currently active for a few months. We will readdress this going forward if needed. Thank you all for understanding!
07/08/22 GO answer the poll ❤️ https://final-furlong.proboards.com/thread/2232/ff-restart-poll

WIN Mata Hari (188) [+12] PLACE Pompeii (85) [+9] SHOW Phantasmagoria (435) [+6] fourth Champagne Supernova (40) [+3] fifth Lovely Lucy (347) [+3] sixth Gallant Charm [+3]
FOOTNOTES MATA HARI set the pace from the get-go on the inside, lost control of the lead by a head but regained command nearing the eighth pole. All she needed was some encouragement before she edged ahead under a drive. POMPEII was forced off the pace early and advanced four wide around the far turn and finished well to gain the place late. PHANTASMAGORIA rated three wide, bid three deep midway around the far turn, lead briefly into the stretch. She appeared to be trying to brace against a hard right rein and lost the second position late into the stretch. CHAMPAGNE SUPERNOVA tracked the pace in the one path and lacked the needed rally. LOVELY LUCY prompted the pace two wide, took a brief lead between foes near the five-sixteenths pole but weakened in the lane. GALLANT CHARM was bumped at the start and then in a bit tight with the group and was ultimately outrun in the stretch.
WIN Devil’s Trill (474) [+12] PLACE Athena’s Pride (268) [+9] SHOW Deadly Fashion (603) [+6] fourth Bedazzled (206) [+3] fifth Hestia (171) [+3] sixth Proxima Centauri (641) [+3] seventh Black Widow [+3]
FOOTNOTES DEVIL’S TRILL stalked the leaders from outside early, bid three deep around the bend, dueled outside ATHENA’S PRIDE in the stretch before putting her nose in front entering the final sixteenth, digging in late to prevail. ATHENA’S PRIDE was forced to press the pace from the inside before moving up to duel with rivals past the five-sixteenths pole, held a short lead over DEVIL’S TRILL before losing it in the stretch. DEADLY FASHION dropped back early, trailed two wide into the turn before summoning a final rally to gain the show. BEDAZZLED broke a step slow, was coaxed to a forward position early, raced in the two-path nearing the turn then angled to the inside before failing to offer a response to coaxing in the stretch. HESTIA stalked from the inside early on before shifting to the two-path near the turn, forcing her to run five wide into the lane and couldn’t rally into the stretch. PROXIMA CENTAURI set the pace outside ATHENA’S PRIDE then dueled with HESTIA leaving the backstretch, could not keep up with those rivals into the stretch and faded. BLACK WIDOW was antsy in the gate, stalked outside a rival early before dropping back to last leaving the backstretch and tired on the far turn.
WIN Copperhead Slinger (235) [+12] PLACE Jazz Hands (144) [+9] SHOW Princess In Diamonds (47) [+6] fourth Falsify (441) [+3] fifth Silent Stowaway [+3]
COPPERHEAD SLINGER hung back for most of the race before making her move around the final turn, swinging off of the rail and taking over PRINCESS IN DIAMONDS down the stretch. JAZZ HANDS broke well and took up a place in the middle of the close-packed field, taking her cue from COPPERHEAD SLINGER and showing a big heart to chase her to the finish. PRINCESS IN DIAMONDS filled in as speed horse for the day, setting strong fractions and gamely holding on for third. FALSIFY pushed hard on PRINCESS IN DIAMONDS for most of the race, but ran out of gas in the stretch. SILENT STOWAWAY stumbled at the break and nearly lost her rider, and though she rallied well, she simply did not have enough track to catch the field.
FOOTNOTES BIZARRE TWIST put on an impressive closing drive, coming up three wide before taking over around the eight pole, driving clear to the wire. HOODED HERO set a pressured pace along the rail, was collared leaving the eight pole and stayed on gamely for the place. TRUE LIGHT kept to the middle of the field but was parked out two wide and could not match strides with the top two in the upper stretch. DECEPTIVE DARLING stumbled at the start, bumping with EPIPHNANY which caused her to lose her momentum & fight the bridle and could not rally to finish stronger. EPIPHANY was anxious in the gate and stumbled, chasing the pace four wide but had no response and failed to produce a rally.
WIN Minerva (273) [+12] PLACE Bone Itch (249) [+9] SHOW Rhodium (89) [+6] fourth Divinity (590) [+3] fifth Serengeti [+3]
Longshot MINERVA was able able to set a very moderate pace from the start and got too far ahead of her rivals for the closer-heavy field to catch up. Stablemate BONE ITCH moved with the late-running pack, and got a nose in front of RHODIUM crossing the wire. RHODIUM made her move with the rest and just edged out DIVINITY for third. DIVINITY showed a lot of heart in the dogfight at the finish, but came up just short. SERENGETI led the charge after MINERVA at the beginning of the stretch, but ran out of gas in the last furlong.
WIN Explosive (203) [+12] PLACE Divination (400) [+9] SHOW Twice Charmed (130) [+6] fourth Trying To Impress (252) [+3] fifth Wild Sonata [+3]
FOOTNOTES EXPLOSIVE did not have the best start, breaking awkwardly at the start before tucking herself behind the main group shortly after. She settled far back two wide, picked up stride to move three wide and waited in between horses into the far turn. This is where she prepared for racing room turning for home before smartly shifting gears inward approaching the lane. She started her charge inside of the leading pair in the final furlong before edging the advantage at the wire. DIVINATION settled saving ground, took closer order inside the half mile marker, moved out and continued the advance between rivals and waited briefly before angling out further into the stretch, shaking clear and digging in gamely but unable to resist the upset winner. TWICE CHARMED was put in tight early, saving ground easily in her position before advancing into striking distance going into the second turn. She worked her way through slight traffic, started to become a danger but failed to clear in the drive. TRYING TO IMPRESS settled off the pace three wide, shifted out slightly approaching the far turn and was urged closer between horses. Turning for home, she stayed well through the final furlong to chase the leaders but was slightly gassed by the wire. WILD SONATA broke slow, settled along the inside and came under a ride into the second turn, followed the path of the winner into the stretch to make up some ground but failed to produce a final surge to catch the tiring TRYING TO IMPRESS.
WIN Acrimony (158) [+12] PLACE Deepfake (546) [+9] SHOW Without A Trace (56) [+6] fourth The Blitz (321) [+3] fifth Beautiful Blysse (257) [+3] sixth Helen's Folly [+3]
ACRIMONY pulled a stunner today, sitting mid-pack for most of the race before taking a gap along the rail. She caught the leaders by surprise and edged her nose in front. DEEPFAKE tracked leader WITHOUT A TRACE before making her move at the top of the stretch, dueling with the frontrunner and managing to get her head in front for the place. WITHOUT A TRACE led throughout but just wasn't able to stave off the top two as they crossed the wire three across. THE BLITZ was well positioned today, but when asked for a drive she simply did not respond as usual and failed to be a threat. BEAUTIFUL BLYSSE trailed the field and just wasn't able to find enough pace to be a threat today. HELEN'S FOLLY chased ACRIMONY when she made her move, but lost focus down the stretch and was not able to rally.
WIN Spellbound (218) [+12] PLACE Pilgrim (104) [+9] SHOW Lunar Trek (241) [+6] fourth Butterfly Kisses (524) [+3] fifth Love Bites [+3]
SPELLBOUND trailed the rest of the field for a majority of the race before making a big move in the stretch, catching the leaders pulling away to win by a length. PILGRIM hassled LUNAR TREK starting on the turn, and managed to shake her up enough to push by her for second. LUNAR TREK took up the lead in the absence of a true frontrunner, having her own way at the start then getting fractious when pressed by PILGRIM. BUTTERFLY KISSES trailed the leaders by four or five lengths for most of the race and failed to mount a response when asked for a big drive down the stretch. LOVE BITES tracked the leaders and gamely fought to keep pace, but ran out of gas down the stretch.
WIN Romeo (191) [+12] PLACE Captain Stark (28) [+9] SHOW Daeira (588) [+6] fourth Sun Shower (290) [+3] fifth Atlantis (441) [+3] sixth Arthurian [+3]
FOOTNOTES ROMEO played a tactical game and upset the favourites today, after breaking a bit slow he trailed the field early on from the inside. He tipped out into the two path entering the lane, rallied hard while searching for more room, finally found an opening and drove past the leader by two lengths. CAPTAIN STARK was reserved early along the inside, stayed on the rail before sneaking through and holding the place position by a head in the final stages. DAEIRA chased the pace early on but was forced five wide entering the lane, trying to make a bid into the stretch but couldn’t hold onto her slight lead and weakened late in the drive. SUN SHOWER was a bit unhappy at the start but managed to chase the early pace, raced in the three hole entering the lane and tried to make a three wide bid near the three sixteenths pole but hung late. ATLANTIS stalked the pace early from the inside, took over and lead nearing the lane, was in the two path into the lane and was shaken off by his rivals down the lane. ARTHURIAN pressed the pace early from the outside, was bumped slightly near the five sixteenths pole and fought restraint, causing him to lose his focus and tired in the lane.
WIN Dyani (617) [+12] PLACE Italian Fury (236) [+9] SHOW Scripture (310) [+6] fourth Andromeda (37) [+3] fifth Namaste [+3]
DYANI sat behind the dueling frontrunners and took advantage of their fading stamina to pull away by three lengths for a domineering win. ITALIAN FURY followed DYANI when she made her move, and while she could not keep up with the winner, she fought gamely against the fading SCRIPTURE to nab second. SCRIPTURE stalked the leaders through most of the race, and didn't have enough left in the tank after the blistering pace to stave off the challengers. Stablemates ANDROMEDA and NAMASTE could not be held back from a suicidal dogfight and faded together in the stretch which the closers took over.
BREEDER'S CUP FILLY AND MARE MARATHON** 12F D 3YOS+ F/M G4+
Gate One: Kiss N Tell (118) [1-118] Gate Two: Admiration (147) [119-265] Gate Three: March Hare (95) [266-360] Gate Four: Pursuit of War (96) [361-456]
WIN Admiration (201) [+12] PLACE Kiss N Tell (24) [+9] SHOW Pursuit Of War (388) [+6] fourth March Hare [+3]
ADMIRATION ran just outside of March Hare 4 lengths off of the leader and made her move at the top of the stretch to win by 3/4 length. KISS N TELL led the field nearly gate-to-wire, and was caught in the final strides by the winner. PURSUIT OF WAR hung at the back of the field and bided her time, but she simply did not have enough pace to catch the top two horses. MARCH HARE broke well and had a good trip but faded in the stretch.
Welcome to the Y21 running of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, sponsored this year by Firestone Stud’s retirement division – Bridgestone Equestrian Co! We sure have an exciting bunch of juveniles this year folks, ones that have worked so hard to collect the greatest number of points to make their debut here today. These colts look ready to go as they prepare for their big Classic season.
Our first of two Valkyrie Stud entries today is Paper Wasp, a colt who hails from fresh imported international lines. Even though he only has one HoTY win point, his consistency throughout the entire year is what makes him a threat today. Bettors won’t want to cross him off their card just yet.
Post two belongs to the entry for Braidwood Creek Manor, Twilight’s Ecstasy. This strapping bay colt has had an exceptional season thus far, already ticking G3 Hoty Winner off his to-do list. The son of Furious Passion has been one to watch all season, and shares the betting odds with our fourth entry, Saturn.
The second Valkyrie entry gets post number three. Libertine, who’s already showing signs of anxiousness in the paddock, has a solid record this season and doesn’t look like an easy ride by the way he’s acting. If he doesn’t set the pace too hot, this horse is one to keep an eye on as well.
Our fourth entry is in the red and black silks for Firestone Racing. Saturn looks to take on the same success as his father and half-brother, who we’ll see race later in the Classic. We know he’s a fast horse, and even though he hasn’t won a race since August, he could be a major threat here today.
The final entry for the Juvenile is presented by Highgrove Thoroughbreds, already having luck earlier today in the F&M Turf Mile with Bizarre Twist. Even though My Virtue doesn’t have as much HoTY experience as the rest of the field, upsets are not rare and today might be this bay colt’s big break.
They’re all in line… and away they go in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile! Setting the pace early is My Virtue, making a beeline for the front by cutting across the track. On the inside is Paper Wasp, the two of them go full tilt towards the first turn. They’re moving right along in the early stages here, and two lengths back Libertine saves ground on the inside of Saturn. Twilight’s Ecstasy is at the back but only seven lengths off the lead as he begins to make ground into the backstretch. The first quarter mile goes in 22.9 seconds and Paper Wasp sticks his neck in front going in the backstretch. My Virtue tries to stay with him in second and only a length and a half away is Saturn. Libertine is running along in fourth on the outside, three lengths off his stablemate in first. Twilight’s Ecstasy is four deep in the backstretch and has come under a ride now, he’s four lengths off the lead being asked for more run.
Libertine is right with the field and he’s going three wide now, coming up on the outside of Saturn, going right after My Virtue as they turn for home! My Virtue holds the lead as they turn the corner, but OH! Libertine cuts the corner and is flying up on the outside! My Virtue is being taken on here by Libertine as the two of them come down to the wire! LIBERTINE on outside, MY VIRTUE along the rail and Libertine has upset them all to win the Breeder’s Cup Juvenile!!!! It was My Virtue in second, Twilight’s Ecstasy found enough for third, Saturn in fourth and Paper Wasp faded to fifth after a grueling early pace.

FOOTNOTES BIG STAR broke sharp, settled off the pace in hand, tipped out and tracked three deep, commenced his bid leaving the turn, took dead aim on the leader with three-sixteenths to run, was full stride a furlong out and drew clear from his stablemate. REDOUBTABLE sprinted clear to set a cracking pace from the start, fought on well but was unable to resist his stablemate in the end. CARNAL NATURE came away a step slow, was unhurried into stride, responded when roused with three furlongs to run, circled five wide into the stretch and finished willingly for the show spot. SNAPDRAGON was hustled along three deep and forced to stay in mid pack, came four wide, split horses and improved position to get the fourth place upset. MANTICORE attended the pace along the inside, shifted out and loomed a danger entering the stretch, but wilted in the final furlong and gave way. OUTLANDER broke awkwardly, lagged well back, tried to angle out entering the stretch but was left with too much to do and couldn’t catch the leaders. BLUE JEAN BOY settled saving ground, moved up to make a mild big, got through but flattened in the drive.
WIN Elemental (261) [+12] PLACE Shadow On The Moon (158) [+9] SHOW Cynosure (519) [+6] fourth Nuclear Fallout (308) [+] fifth Necromancer [+3]
FOOTNOTES ELEMENTAL managed a huge upset today against a very strong field of horses. He was outrun for a half, responded well when asked to pick up the pace with three furlongs to go, moved out four wide approaching the stretch and closed fast to steal the win. SHADOW ON THE MOON did not like his position early on but managed to challenge the leader entering the turn, drifting out slight before being corrected and asked for the drive forward, but it was not enough to hold off the winner. CYNOSURE shadowed the leader three deep, was unable to go on with ELEMENTAL entering the stretch, weakened slightly during the drive and settled for the minor award. NUCLEAR FALLOUT tucked in to save ground, took closer order through the second turn but was bottled but in traffic near the quarter pole. NECROMANCER lunged at the start and was away slow, stuck to the inside of the field and when asked for more, seemed unhurried.
