BasicsName: Blackout
YOB: Y20
Gender: Stallion
Color: Black
Height: 17.2hh
Pedigree: Foundation x Foundation
Personality: Blackout is a horse that came to us as a gangly little foal with no experience in anything other than survival. He was with his dam which we have kept as a simple companion horse, due to her tendency to go lame whenever the weather dips in temperature.
He was full of worms and knobby knees without a prayer and was covered in mud at the kill pen.
Since we were just starting out we decided to try him, not only to save him from his current fate but also because we saw something in him. A strange spark and fire that showed whenever he got the strength to start running. So we named him Blackout, or Blackie at the stable.
Right we were to purchase him, while his mother may not have been sound enough to be used for any competition, Blackout ended up being a hardworking horse. Though his breaks are terrible, once he gets moving he's practically a freight train. From a tiny foal he grew to a massive stance and showed his love for a dirt track. He's a forceful front runner at heart and loves to push his own limits. Sometimes it's a little hard for his jockey to actually stay on top of him with the way he lurches forward with every stride.
Consider it somewhat of his own personal and flamboyant racing style. He always seems to have his own way about things, making out with flashy entrances and patterns. He knows when there are cameras and seems to think he has a good angle. Still, it takes a trainer and a jockey with a strong mind to deal with him, since he tends to be a bit moody. When that happens it takes a lot of pressure to make him go as he normally does. So we try our best to keep him happy, so he can do his best out there on the track.

BasicsName: Midsummer Temperance
YOB: Y20
Gender: Stallion
Color: Dark Bay
Height: 16.3hh
Pedigree: Foundation x Foundation
Personality: Midsummer Temperance is an oddity here at Silver Oak Stables. He was actually given to us as a gift from a family friend of the owner, a little foal with a great bit of promise it seemed, especially since the original owners didn't have the room to care for him. He was a sweet little thing, all long limbs and small whinnies. He got along famously with our companion horse Honey, and soon grew to be a reasonable horse ready to strike out on the race track.
Midsummer Temperance, or Middy as we call him here at the stable is what one could consider a polished horse. Not quite as soft as some of our other horses but certainly acts more like a show pony than he does a racehorse. He's polished in the way he moves, almost like a horse built for dressage but manages to work himself up to a speed that rockets over the track... when he feels like it.
Still he is as crafty as he is stubborn, wanting things done his way and his way only he can be quite the handful. He's terrified of puddles, we think it's because he isn't one to get his hooves wet. Either way, it takes a firm hand, and sometimes some bribery with treats, to get him ready for a race. We work him well and take our time, and Middy will eventually show us what he's capable of.

BasicsName: Morning Debut
YOB: Y20
Gender: Stallion
Color: Gray
Height: 15.1hh
Pedigree: Foundation x Foundation
Personality: Morning Debut, otherwise known as Mornin', was a wonderful choice at a small local auction. Upon first seeing him we got to get a good look at the high energy he had. He was practically prancing about the pen, but was quiet when it came his voice. Thankfully he was an easy bid and upon taking him home we set to work on getting him ready to race. A little yearling with all the promise in the world. We also happened to get him a stable mate at that auction, a welsh cob who wasn't in the best of health.
Still, it was a great choice as they both get along famously. Thankfully neither of them seem to have suffered any long term health effects, as healthy as horses they are!
When it comes to Morning Debut he is a horse with high spirits. He's hard to bring down and is always a happy critter to be around. He is always moving with an energy we all hope to achieve one day. Still, he's a very charming individual, sort of a Casanova at Silver Oak Stables. It seems as though our human ladies have gotten smitten with him, the mares however find him to be more of a pain than anything.

BasicsName: Luck O' The Irish
YOB: Y20
Gender: Stallion
Color: Chestnut
Height: 16.2hh
Pedigree: Foundation x Foundation
Personality: Luck O' The Irish, or Lucky at the stable, was a last minute decision. We had gone to one last kill pen, a bit out of state for ourselves. It was there that we found him, a six month old foal covered in dirt and looking like he'd been through it. We learned that a lot of them had been imported from other countries, a lack of space across the board and they were filling in where they could. We couldn't just leave him there, so we took the bid and brought him home.
It was a wonderful choice, after getting him vaccinated, dewormed, and cleaned up he looked like a brand new horse. Upon training in his yearling years he grew into a strong fairly large stallion. He was named Lucky since we hadn't planned on bringing back a foal that time, but just couldn't leave him there.
Even so his name suits him, being an energetic and crafty horse. He gets himself into all sorts of trouble especially when it comes to unprotected treat buckets. Still, he runs like the wind when he feels like it and we're quite proud to have him as apart of our stable. He has quite the snarky attitude and very much thinks he's the bee's knees when it comes to prancing around the starting gate. He's very particular however, extremely picky on how he gets loaded into the gate. If his criteria, mysterious as it is, isn't met he will break horribly from the starting gate.

BasicsName: Queendom Come
YOB: Y20
Gender: Mare
Color: Gray
Height: 17.1hh
Pedigree: Foundation x Foundation
Personality: Queendom Come, or Queensie at the stable, was the perfect mare to start with, a fiery horse that worked perfectly with our no none-sense jockey. We bought her as a yearling from a simple local auction. She came in snorting and thrashing her head, we were tempted to name her dragoness but thought better of it. Her entrance was explosive and aggressive, we fought hard on the bid for her but eventually got the pleasure to take her home.
Upon taking her home and starting to learn her personality and ability to run we found out that we were right in our assumptions upon first glance. She's gentle with other horses and people, but needs a firm jockey with a grasp of a violent get up and go attitude. She is a hot-headed horse on the track, thrashing her head in the starting gate and snorting like a dragon breathing fire.
She's completely energetic and never seems to tire, continuing to go and takes a moment to extend her stride. We thought upon first working with her that she would take charge in the field and lead the packs pace. Instead she hangs back, hiding in the shadows of the other horses until the final turn at the backstretch. She extends herself fully then and overtakes as if showing off. It sometimes feels like she's teasing them, thundering down the track and yelling to the wind
'this is how a real horse does it.' with her snorting breaths.

BasicsName: Bright Scarlet Pallet
YOB: Y20
Gender: Mare
Color: Blood Bay
Height: 15.2hh
Pedigree: Foundation x Foundation
Personality: Bright Scarlet Pallet, Scarlet for short, is by far the sweetest addition to our stables here at Silver Oak. Upon getting her we thought she wouldn't be able to make it and keep up, since she couldn't quite match a thunderous pace like Queensie. However she soon found her stride as a little sprinter, her small stance making for a rather adorable sight out on the track. She fares alright on turf but really shows her comfort on a dirt track. She is a Halloween lover due to her taste of pumpkin as her treat of choice, which she earns many of.
Upon meeting her she'll be happy to sniff and nuzzle to get you to pet her, basically a large puppy in a horses body. She is very much a gentle soul, not nearly as fiery and loud as some of the horses who call this stable home. Though she seems to get along fine with pretty much everyone here. She's a very calm little mare, and isn't easily startled by much.
The main issue we find when working with her is that she is a bit sensitive to the bit and directions given to her. We rely more on a collected jockey to ride her, someone with finesse. She doesn't do well with a rough handler in the slightest, and that's when she is quite a stubborn and nippy mare, which is perfectly understandable. So long as we have a gentle hand to guide her she'll do perfectly fine.
