Races close on Mondays at 9PM EST! Our Next Sale Begins: January Y22.
02/05/23 We're almost ready to kick off the New Year here at Final Furlong! The New Years Sale is still OPEN for bids - lots of ponies needing homes! As well, we're hoping to close January Week One races by MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6. However, if we need to extend closing date so more people can get entered, just let us know in the Discord. In addition to getting your pages ready, don't forget to use your bonus points if you'd like!
01/29/23 Congratulations to KENREN for winning the Y21 Breeders' Cup Betting Contest! You've won a breeding reserve to FIFTY DREAMS (Firestone Stud) and 2x 2 furlong extensions + 5 bonus horse points! Lolly finished 2nd, and Cruisey finished 3rd.
12/08/22 The Breeder's Cup Betting Contest will make a return for Y21!!! It'll be a little bit different because of the new points system, but get ready for some end of year fun 😄
11/21/22 Entries for the New Year Sale are now open! We know it seems a bit early, but with life things we're going to need time to make sure things are right lol. Please follow the link here: https://final-furlong.proboards.com/thread/2304/y22-new-year-sale
08/20/22 Judging has been the basis for issues for a long time - taking too long, drama regarding results, bias, etc. Kenren has attempted to put a points system together that keeps the spirit of our system while streamlining and standardizing the process. It's a lot to take in, but once you get in the swing of it, preparing pages with these points takes way less time than doing a layout change lol! If you have any questions, please post them in the judging-help channel on Discord for now. If anyone needs help with anything, please let an admin know! We would like to give everyone one week to get things settled, and then we would like to run July Wk 2 using this system closing 8/27/22 (or earlier if everyone is ready). If it works out, we would like to run two game weeks per RL week to get things moving! Thank you all so much for being her!e
07/27/22 To start July off fresh, we've been playing around with a new theme for Final Furlong! Make sure to check out 'Sonorous' under your profile ❤️ Feel free to use whatever theme works best for yourself. We can't wait to get back to racing!
07/21/22 it's official! We're back! It looks like June Wk 4 was almost fully judged, so make sure you get that updated if you hadn't! We will plan to close the next week (July Wk 1) on Thursday, August 4th. This close day may change, but it's not a bad place to start! For now we'll be doing one game week per RL week to get back into things. Please remember that starting the second half of the year, 3yos can compete against older horses without automatic lower placements.
As an aside, because this is fairly sudden after a whole year, we will not be allowing reclaims on horses for members not currently active for a few months. We will readdress this going forward if needed. Thank you all for understanding!
07/08/22 GO answer the poll ❤️ https://final-furlong.proboards.com/thread/2232/ff-restart-poll

Arsenia is by Royal Cadenza and out of Wish Upon A Star. She is a filly that has been hotly anticipated by the entire crew at Stride Of Perfection; both of her parents were well loved, and in Senia is a combination of beautiful pedigree and amazing class. Senia is among the most arrogant, princessy horses in the barn. This filly is so particular that she will never be entered in a race over soft ground; it just won't work for her. She is athletic and fast and packs a lot of speed. Senia loves racing, which can come across as a bit of a surprise given her princessy attitude. She likes to break fast, go to the front, and not necessarily be in the lead but be somewhere ahead of the pack. Her attention-getting attitude made her rider assignment of Meredith Mahon a logical choice. Arsenia possesses the miler talent of her sire but is able to stretch out to the marathon distance of twelve furlongs just like her mother. Even though she hasn't started yet, the barn staff look at this filly and plan for the Turf Triple Tiara in her future. Arsenia will be starting in the January Maiden Turf at GHF in Week Two for her debut, and will move on to the Pat Whitworth Illinois Debutante the week after.
Unbroken was not personally bred by Indigo Morning, but due to Grayson Meadows's absence has been returned to us all the same. By Forbidden To Fly and out of Tears Of An Angel, SOPS's future sprinting star was warmly welcomed into the barn...despite his apparent insanity. Broke, as he is affectionately and occasionally hysterically known around the barn, is insane. He's louder than his sire, which is honestly saying something, and he's even more energetic. He can't stand still and is constantly on the move, so he's a very high-maintenance horse. With his cute, annoying, crazy attitude, he was initially given to Sam Johnston, one of the new hires, to deal with. Initially meant as a slight joke, the relationship between Broke and Sam has morphed to a new level. They click in a way that is indefinable, and we couldn't have picked a better first mount for the young colt. This horse is a natural runner. On the track, Broke loves to sit just off the leaders and wait for his move to be cued. He rebreaks when asked into speed of stunning proportions; the first few times we saw it, we were shocked by his rate of acceleration. He will be starting in the Swift Stakes at GHF and then going on to the Unicorn Horn Juvenile Dirt Sprint for his second run.
Usurper was a half-impulse, half-planned purchase at the Year Eighteen sale. By A Royal Legacy and out of Whipped Cream, Usurper brings Merry Bay King back into the mix with some fresh lines from his dam. He is incredibly stubborn, but is actually a very nervous type of horse who needs constant entertainment to stay calm. His iron willpower - something his dam also possessed - makes him stand out in a big way when faced with a fight during workouts. Usurper is a very crazy horse on the track, his energy levels peaking. Jockey Timothy Andrews, used to working with horses that are hard to handle, was a perfect fit for the typically stressed colt. Similarly to Broke, Usurper likes to take a spot just off the leaders. He uses the final turn to get himself going, running for the lead like his life depends on it. It didn't take long for this horse to capture all of our hearts at Stride of Perfection. He will go forward in the January Maiden Dirt at Green Horse Fields to start and will likely hit another maiden race the week after if necessary.
