02/05/23 We're almost ready to kick off the New Year here at Final Furlong! The New Years Sale is still OPEN for bids - lots of ponies needing homes! As well, we're hoping to close January Week One races by MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6. However, if we need to extend closing date so more people can get entered, just let us know in the Discord. In addition to getting your pages ready, don't forget to use your bonus points if you'd like!

08/20/22 Judging has been the basis for issues for a long time - taking too long, drama regarding results, bias, etc. Kenren has attempted to put a points system together that keeps the spirit of our system while streamlining and standardizing the process. It's a lot to take in, but once you get in the swing of it, preparing pages with these points takes way less time than doing a layout change lol! If you have any questions, please post them in the judging-help channel on Discord for now. If anyone needs help with anything, please let an admin know! We would like to give everyone one week to get things settled, and then we would like to run July Wk 2 using this system closing 8/27/22 (or earlier if everyone is ready). If it works out, we would like to run two game weeks per RL week to get things moving! Thank you all so much for being her!e

07/21/22 it's official! We're back! It looks like June Wk 4 was almost fully judged, so make sure you get that updated if you hadn't! We will plan to close the next week (July Wk 1) on Thursday, August 4th. This close day may change, but it's not a bad place to start! For now we'll be doing one game week per RL week to get back into things. Please remember that starting the second half of the year, 3yos can compete against older horses without automatic lower placements.
As an aside, because this is fairly sudden after a whole year, we will not be allowing reclaims on horses for members not currently active for a few months. We will readdress this going forward if needed. Thank you all for understanding!

In an effort to foster willingness to judge, these rewards target those willing to step up! They include both individual points awards and a ranking system, which will both refresh and start at zero twice per year (After June Wk 4 and December Wk 4). This point system inherently favors smaller stables, as they're less likely to have horses in the major or large races! So we hope you'll take advantage.
PLEASE NOTE the rules for judging, which are also outlined in the guide. You can only sign up for/reserve up to four races at each track before races close. Then you must wait 24 hours to judge more. There is no limit on how many races can be judged AFTER the first 24 hours after close. So you may judge 12 races total at one time, 4 at each track, before the 24 hours is up. This enables us to still have a variety of judges, as well as encouraging people to judge early, because then they can judge more after 24 hours!
Points At the end of each race week, points will be awarded to each member. The points will be as follows:
Races with three or less horses: 1 Races with four or five horses: 2 Races with six or seven horses: 3 Races with eight+ horses: 4
If the race is a major race and designated HOTY** (all of the 3yo series races, BC, and some others), point values will be doubled! There is also a 10% chance every week that the regular HOTYs that week will be doubled as well! It's on a randomizer 1-100, and if it ends on a multiple of 10 the week is doubled. It'll say in the judging points post if that happens.
Note that points are awarded even if horses are disqualified or the race doesn't run! For example, if it is a four-horse field but one is DQed because of ineligibility, you still get 2 points instead of 1. Same with races that don't run because of an error - if you 'judged' that race and found a horse ineligible, you still get 1 point!
Individual Awards These can be earned by everyone, if they get enough points! These are individual goals to reach for. They will likely change after each reset. These prizes can automatically be claimed, and each member's points will be kept track of here.

Ranking System This is what you're all really looking for, and where the best prizes with be available. These will also change after reset, so many of these prizes will be one-time deals, though prize 1 will likely remain the same! Sometimes there will be more place prizes, sometimes less. The ranks will be updated after every week and kept track of here. First place will get to choose from the list of prizes, then second from the remaining options, and so on. Should you not want one of the offered prizes if eligible, you can instead choose any three items of your choice.
