Races close on Mondays at 9PM EST! Our Next Sale Begins: January Y22.
02/05/23 We're almost ready to kick off the New Year here at Final Furlong! The New Years Sale is still OPEN for bids - lots of ponies needing homes! As well, we're hoping to close January Week One races by MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6. However, if we need to extend closing date so more people can get entered, just let us know in the Discord. In addition to getting your pages ready, don't forget to use your bonus points if you'd like!
01/29/23 Congratulations to KENREN for winning the Y21 Breeders' Cup Betting Contest! You've won a breeding reserve to FIFTY DREAMS (Firestone Stud) and 2x 2 furlong extensions + 5 bonus horse points! Lolly finished 2nd, and Cruisey finished 3rd.
12/08/22 The Breeder's Cup Betting Contest will make a return for Y21!!! It'll be a little bit different because of the new points system, but get ready for some end of year fun 😄
11/21/22 Entries for the New Year Sale are now open! We know it seems a bit early, but with life things we're going to need time to make sure things are right lol. Please follow the link here: https://final-furlong.proboards.com/thread/2304/y22-new-year-sale
08/20/22 Judging has been the basis for issues for a long time - taking too long, drama regarding results, bias, etc. Kenren has attempted to put a points system together that keeps the spirit of our system while streamlining and standardizing the process. It's a lot to take in, but once you get in the swing of it, preparing pages with these points takes way less time than doing a layout change lol! If you have any questions, please post them in the judging-help channel on Discord for now. If anyone needs help with anything, please let an admin know! We would like to give everyone one week to get things settled, and then we would like to run July Wk 2 using this system closing 8/27/22 (or earlier if everyone is ready). If it works out, we would like to run two game weeks per RL week to get things moving! Thank you all so much for being her!e
07/27/22 To start July off fresh, we've been playing around with a new theme for Final Furlong! Make sure to check out 'Sonorous' under your profile ❤️ Feel free to use whatever theme works best for yourself. We can't wait to get back to racing!
07/21/22 it's official! We're back! It looks like June Wk 4 was almost fully judged, so make sure you get that updated if you hadn't! We will plan to close the next week (July Wk 1) on Thursday, August 4th. This close day may change, but it's not a bad place to start! For now we'll be doing one game week per RL week to get back into things. Please remember that starting the second half of the year, 3yos can compete against older horses without automatic lower placements.
As an aside, because this is fairly sudden after a whole year, we will not be allowing reclaims on horses for members not currently active for a few months. We will readdress this going forward if needed. Thank you all for understanding!
07/08/22 GO answer the poll ❤️ https://final-furlong.proboards.com/thread/2232/ff-restart-poll
Hello Final Furlong welcome, We are here to follow up on New Hope Pasture and some familiar faces of the track. Now New Hope Pasture's owners seemed to be a bit on the quiet side as of late, many come to think they went bankrupt or became a ghost stable. Unfortunately that was not the issue. New Hope Pasture is back and while they had sold a few of their horses to lower the count they are surely going to stay strong the rest of the season and following.
The much older class
ADMIRALS LADY First approach is the Admirals Revenge daughter who we have barely seen as of late. The mare didn't have a good four year old season as she was out most of the season, Mason Connelly stated that Admirals Lady was recovering from a slight tendon injury in her front left leg. They didn't want to race the mare until they knew she was ready. Luckily with more training and patience, the mare has made a full recovery and is back into the racing scene only to make a slight comeback in the first week of June. Her last two races placed her out of the money however New Hope has some good faith the mare will make it to Grade One before retiring to the broodmare barn next season.
FIREFALL is a brilliant colt who has seem to have bounced around throughout his career. New Hope is hoping to regain the confidence in him so he could definitely make a surprising comeback this season. The colt is going to continue on the turf surfaces and may be elected to race another year depending on this year's results. Firefall has the lineage to snap back and we will certainly be happy of the soon outcome.
EXCALIBUR'S STONE is a mare who everyone knows, a daughter to TDI Live this Lie out of Heart of Stone, this mare will ease her way to Grade One this season. She has not had the pleasure to win major races however she does share the motivation to challenge her opponents while on the track. The mare originally started out on the dirt surfaces but with much training on the turf she became to be known in the industry. Excalibur's Stone is expected to hit Grade One this season before retiring to brood to join her siblings. New Hope may even consider selling her depending on how things turn out.
DANCING FOOL a full brother to Moondance has certainly been on the quiet front. The stallion has not raced in awhile and will slowly ease back into the fray this season. Bane as the stable calls him recently just won his first race of this season but only proper training and the right race will move the colt along forward. His career has not been the best but New Hope is looking to change that. Once he builds up his confidence this season, New Hope will try him out next season again.
NOADIANCE & FLASHING THE DECLARATION Both of these stallions go back to when New Hope Stables was once known as Bowen Acres Stables, when they were newbies to the racing scene and building their name. Both of these colts have now hit Grade One making their way to become known in the racing industry. Noadiance claimed the under-cards in his favor while his racing career started rough he made his way through the crowds as the little engine that could until he had a growth spurt during his classic season. Flashing the Declaration was sold to multiple stables and then leased to Montgomery Acres before returning to New Hope Pasture where he won his last race making him Grade One. Flashing the Declaration will go one more race before retiring to stud.
TELL ME A FABLE is stallion that may end up retiring at the end of this year, this colt has had some hardships and while he has been sold to a few stables in the past we are hoping he pick up nicely this season. The colt is a half brother to Noadiance and has relations to Loose Truth and Queens Honesty. He certainly has the motive to gain more experience and New Hope will do whatever they can to make sure this horse makes the radar.
AVENGEABLE another colt that New Hope Pasture is proud of, Gee has had quite the good few years is will make this year a good one. He is the first foal sired by Heartless Revenge's first crop and has shown great promise. Avengeable will follow through to this season and may retire at the end of the year depending on if he feels he is ready or not.
FLAMING CONFIDENZA is a mare of whom New Hope loves. She is her sire's first foal to reach the status of her nature. She currently at Grade Two and by the end of this season New Hope is hoping she reaches Grade One and soon retire to broodmare. New Hope does have plans for her breeding career and plans to match her with either Noadiance or Glory Bell.
DARK INTENTIONS another son to True Enough is certainly making his away around. Dark Intentions is out of Moondance and like his mother, Beauty does love to put on a show. The colt is suspected to finish up this season whether he is Grade One or not where he will join the stud barn. Dark Intentions is set to have a date with Flash of Light.
INCITATUS is another colt of the Original crew of the once named Bowen Acres. The Bucephalus son does certainly have an ego and will continue on this season before he retires in Y19. While his career has been a bit light if he seems to want to continue to race next season the staff at New Hope will not judge. Taking him out this last week Mason has noticed the gleam in the colt's eyes as he ran with ease. New Hope does love to give Tatu a good competitive streak.
BONFIRE is the lesser twin of Santana's Legend, the recent True Enough twins, Bonfire seemed to live in his sisters shadow but his career has been on a slow. However the remainder of this year Bonfire will certainly pay his due. The colt will go one more year before retiring to stud in Y20 and while New Hope is proud of Santana's Legend career they only hope Bonfire will take aim here soon.
IMITATIONS LOVE is a mare that is full of hormones and a mean deposition. The mare will retire at the end of the season with her small career she does seem to be on the laid back side of things regardless of her personality. She will finish out this season before she joins the broodmare barn.
DUDLEY'S GIRL is a mare of New Hope Pasture that will take on this season and next season before starting her broodmare career. She has had a slow start in seasons but she will fight hard this season. The filly of Studley Dudley certainly will bring some good lines to the track but has good determination to turn around and make a comeback. We have faith that this mare can pull through.
TUFF E'NUFF The light bay colt that posed a real threat during his classic season has certainly slowed down quite a bit this season. The True Enough son has seemed to be the better of the twins but Rough Boy is surely making a comeback as well. Tuff will soon enter back in to HOTY races this season where he will find his stride in the possible Breeder's Cup at the end of the year. The colt still has promise while he is massive in height he surely can fight for the lead. Tuff E'Nuff has certainly grown into a promising colt and with being well matured he will surely not back down this season.
GENUINE RISK unlike his half brother Tuff E'Nuff, Genuine Risk seemed to like the turf surfaces than the dirt. He does have a lot of work this season to build up that confidence to get back into the HOTY races. He will mark another True Enough son to make the big bucks if he can proceed to training. The Colt is a Grade Three performer and the staff are hoping that the colt could at least reach to Grade Two by the end of the season and maybe just hit Grade One by the beginning of next year.
