Races close on Mondays at 9PM EST! Our Next Sale Begins: January Y22.
02/05/23 We're almost ready to kick off the New Year here at Final Furlong! The New Years Sale is still OPEN for bids - lots of ponies needing homes! As well, we're hoping to close January Week One races by MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6. However, if we need to extend closing date so more people can get entered, just let us know in the Discord. In addition to getting your pages ready, don't forget to use your bonus points if you'd like!
01/29/23 Congratulations to KENREN for winning the Y21 Breeders' Cup Betting Contest! You've won a breeding reserve to FIFTY DREAMS (Firestone Stud) and 2x 2 furlong extensions + 5 bonus horse points! Lolly finished 2nd, and Cruisey finished 3rd.
12/08/22 The Breeder's Cup Betting Contest will make a return for Y21!!! It'll be a little bit different because of the new points system, but get ready for some end of year fun 😄
11/21/22 Entries for the New Year Sale are now open! We know it seems a bit early, but with life things we're going to need time to make sure things are right lol. Please follow the link here: https://final-furlong.proboards.com/thread/2304/y22-new-year-sale
08/20/22 Judging has been the basis for issues for a long time - taking too long, drama regarding results, bias, etc. Kenren has attempted to put a points system together that keeps the spirit of our system while streamlining and standardizing the process. It's a lot to take in, but once you get in the swing of it, preparing pages with these points takes way less time than doing a layout change lol! If you have any questions, please post them in the judging-help channel on Discord for now. If anyone needs help with anything, please let an admin know! We would like to give everyone one week to get things settled, and then we would like to run July Wk 2 using this system closing 8/27/22 (or earlier if everyone is ready). If it works out, we would like to run two game weeks per RL week to get things moving! Thank you all so much for being her!e
07/27/22 To start July off fresh, we've been playing around with a new theme for Final Furlong! Make sure to check out 'Sonorous' under your profile ❤️ Feel free to use whatever theme works best for yourself. We can't wait to get back to racing!
07/21/22 it's official! We're back! It looks like June Wk 4 was almost fully judged, so make sure you get that updated if you hadn't! We will plan to close the next week (July Wk 1) on Thursday, August 4th. This close day may change, but it's not a bad place to start! For now we'll be doing one game week per RL week to get back into things. Please remember that starting the second half of the year, 3yos can compete against older horses without automatic lower placements.
As an aside, because this is fairly sudden after a whole year, we will not be allowing reclaims on horses for members not currently active for a few months. We will readdress this going forward if needed. Thank you all for understanding!
07/08/22 GO answer the poll ❤️ https://final-furlong.proboards.com/thread/2232/ff-restart-poll
Hip 023 - Jacques Cousteau b. g. by GS Royal Crown, out of Union Jaque
Next up is a coming-four-year-old gelding from Battle Brook Stable. While he has not yet run to his full potential, he did improve this last year and is likely to continue to improve into maturity. The sire was a HOTY winner himself, and came in second in both the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile* and the Prince of Wales Stakes*. He has also sired the likes of HOTY-winning juvenile Golden Envoy and HOTY winner Tap Out. The dam was very lightly raced, but never finished out of the money. She also produced G1 HOTY miler Royal Charm and HOTY-winning juvenile Admonish. Overall, this gelding has incredible connections and should mature very nicely in the coming years.
Hip 024 - Lady Pegasus gr/rn. f. by Pegasus Wings, out of Alien Side Kick
This coming-three-year-old is well-connected, and has a healthy dose of HOTY experience from her juvenile year. Her sire is a Hall of Famer, and won one edition of the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint* and two editions of the Breeders' Cup Sprint* during his career. He was nominated as Y16's Sire of the Year, and also produced the likes of G1 HOTY horse Daring Vision, G1 HOTY horse Winged Pegasus, Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint* and Highway Stakes* winner Everlasting Gift, Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint* and So Sassy Sprint* winner Athena's Desires, and So Sassy Sprint* winner Wings Of Jayde. The dam, though not quite as proven as the sire, also has another foal to run. She also produced The Blue Alien, an increasingly more competitive and consistent colt going into his four-year-old season. This is a lovely combination of old and new, and she's got the setup to have a good year!
Hip 025 - Lasheeva b. f. by Created, out of Created
This pretty filly is a grade four four-year-old with HOTY experience - what more could one ask for in a project? She finished second last year in the Forward Gal Stakes*, and third in the Girl's Festival*. She's been pretty well raced, but just couldn't nab many wins last year - however, she's still only one win away from G3 and could have monster campaigns the next couple of years.
Hip 026 - Little Buddy dk b/br. c. by Buddy Marvel, out of Alien Side Kick
This colt is a half sibling to hip 24, so details regarding the dam's side can be read there! This is a new juvenile racing prospect with fresh lines. This will be the sire's first foal to race.
Hip 027 - Momentarily Herself b. f. by Dylan Himself, out of Santana's Moment
The next into the ring is a five-year-old mare that still has a lot of running left to do! She is a HOTY winner that will be starting the year one win away from G1 after having her most consistent season yet, and would be a great starter HOTY horse for a smaller stable (or an additional rising star for an established one!). This filly is uniquely bred, and comes from lines that have been around the block a time or two. The sire was a winner of the old-school Kentucky Open*, and reached G1 status during his career. He also sired Red Mile* winner Supernatural, consistent G2 horse Nutracker Suite, HOTY winning juvenile Admonish, and very consistent horse Wrecking Ball. The dam Santana's Moment has thrown a number of very exciting buzz horses, including HOTY horse Radiation Therapy and winner of 18 HOTY races (including the Dubai World Sprint*) Coincidence. This is a very well-connected and freshly bred horse, and she's got a big year ahead of her, so don't miss out on this chance!
Hip 031 - Over Time gr/rn. f. by Created, out of Created
This lovely created filly is turning four years old, and would make a lovely project horse! She is a dirt sprinter who has been very lightly races, and will be starting out the year as a grade five - meaning that she should have a great year if she's campaigned properly!
Hip 032 - Minuet Trinity gr/rn. f. by Created, out of Created
This filly had a wonderful two-year-old year, but fell on some hard times at three! However, she's a very nice prospect, and at at G3 she's truly going in the right direction. She'd be a great horse for a farm that can give her some attention!
Hip 036 - So Far Afar pal. f. by Footloose, out of Scarlet Fever
Everyone please welcome into the ring the last horse of this New Year Sale! For your consideration is new three-year-old So Far Afar, a filly that missed part of the year and yet still managed to find both two wins and some HOTY experience. She is half to some successful horses already in Liberated Treasure (G1, Shining Stakes*), Stylishly Wild (G1, Maryland Derby*), Forget Me Not, Fever Pitch, and Viva Fever (HOTY winner).
