Races close on Mondays at 9PM EST! Our Next Sale Begins: January Y22.
02/05/23 We're almost ready to kick off the New Year here at Final Furlong! The New Years Sale is still OPEN for bids - lots of ponies needing homes! As well, we're hoping to close January Week One races by MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6. However, if we need to extend closing date so more people can get entered, just let us know in the Discord. In addition to getting your pages ready, don't forget to use your bonus points if you'd like!
01/29/23 Congratulations to KENREN for winning the Y21 Breeders' Cup Betting Contest! You've won a breeding reserve to FIFTY DREAMS (Firestone Stud) and 2x 2 furlong extensions + 5 bonus horse points! Lolly finished 2nd, and Cruisey finished 3rd.
12/08/22 The Breeder's Cup Betting Contest will make a return for Y21!!! It'll be a little bit different because of the new points system, but get ready for some end of year fun 😄
11/21/22 Entries for the New Year Sale are now open! We know it seems a bit early, but with life things we're going to need time to make sure things are right lol. Please follow the link here: https://final-furlong.proboards.com/thread/2304/y22-new-year-sale
08/20/22 Judging has been the basis for issues for a long time - taking too long, drama regarding results, bias, etc. Kenren has attempted to put a points system together that keeps the spirit of our system while streamlining and standardizing the process. It's a lot to take in, but once you get in the swing of it, preparing pages with these points takes way less time than doing a layout change lol! If you have any questions, please post them in the judging-help channel on Discord for now. If anyone needs help with anything, please let an admin know! We would like to give everyone one week to get things settled, and then we would like to run July Wk 2 using this system closing 8/27/22 (or earlier if everyone is ready). If it works out, we would like to run two game weeks per RL week to get things moving! Thank you all so much for being her!e
07/27/22 To start July off fresh, we've been playing around with a new theme for Final Furlong! Make sure to check out 'Sonorous' under your profile ❤️ Feel free to use whatever theme works best for yourself. We can't wait to get back to racing!
07/21/22 it's official! We're back! It looks like June Wk 4 was almost fully judged, so make sure you get that updated if you hadn't! We will plan to close the next week (July Wk 1) on Thursday, August 4th. This close day may change, but it's not a bad place to start! For now we'll be doing one game week per RL week to get back into things. Please remember that starting the second half of the year, 3yos can compete against older horses without automatic lower placements.
As an aside, because this is fairly sudden after a whole year, we will not be allowing reclaims on horses for members not currently active for a few months. We will readdress this going forward if needed. Thank you all for understanding!
07/08/22 GO answer the poll ❤️ https://final-furlong.proboards.com/thread/2232/ff-restart-poll
Welcome, everyone, to the Year Nineteen New Years Sale! Please also check out the Breeding/Youngstock ring, as it will be running simultaneously. The catalog can be found here. Please also review the Conditions of Sale. The structure will be as follows:
Each horse will receive 12 hours in the ring. The dates and times for each horse will be listed in a schedule below. These times are in EDT so please convert them to your own time zone accordingly. When the closing time comes (aka when the next horse is due into the ring), any later bids will not be considered. This includes being even a second over, so snipe last second at your own risk! Any staff member may introduce the next horse into the ring when the time comes. Anyone can bid on any horse as long as they are eligible, not just those that showed interest in the pre-sale interest thread.
+ Starting bids will be what is stated in the catalog. + If the starting bid is under $100,000, the bid must go in $10,000 increments. If the starting bid is over $100,000, the bid must go in $50,000 increments. + You do not need to wait for the 'auctioneer' to make the next bid. + Admins have the right to refuse a top bidder if issues arise + After bidding ends, please go to the Sales Office, where buyers will post the new links and staff will move the money. Please do not do this through the donation button so we can be sure everyone gets paid. + Horses go to the highest bidder unless there is an issue, in which case the horse goes back to the consignor. + Remember the new buyer limit rules in the Conditions of Sale/Sales Rules! This will be monitored.
Hip 002 - Red Hot Secret ch. c. by Red Herring, out of Santana Secret
Next into the ring is a current racing colt with plenty of HOTY experience to back his future campaign. Not only has Red Hot Secret thoroughly soaked his feet at the highest level, but he's been pretty successful at it as a whole. He won the Sand Challenge Juvenile* at two, and at three placed in the Quality Road Stakes* and Tonalist Stakes*. The pedigree is hot and recent, with this colt being half to Belmont Stakes* winner Bold Trick through the sire. The dam isn't too shabby either, also producing such horses as Breeders' Cup Dirt Marathon* winner Arctic Fox and retired Dirt Mile Champion Supernatural. This colt seems to be a blooming slowly but surely, and would make an excellent older racehorse for anyone with a pulse!
Hip 003 - Saccharine gr/rn. c. by Beyond His Candy, out of Wishing For A Heroine
This racing prospect is very nicely bred, with less populous lines to boot. Beyond His Candy was himself a moderately successful racehorse, reaching G1 and even snagging a couple of HOTY wins in the process. He is the sire of three foals to race, including G1 HOTY winner Ghostly Girl, G3 mare Beyond The Stars, and G4 filly Beyond Constellation. The dam, Everyday Hero mare Wishing For A Heroine, reached G1 status and won the Shining Stakes* at 3. This is her first foal.
Hip 005 - Valaska gr/rn. f. by Frozen Motion, out of Gold Digger
Likely the jewel of this sale in terms of breeding, this filly is quite the head-turner! Valaska has been slow to mature, but this five-year-old is teetering on a breakout season. She has been very consistent, and while she hasn't had huge HOTY success to date, she's gotten valuable exposure that will aid her going forward. Valaska is by Hall of Famer Frozen Motion, a household name and force on the track that is also the sire of such horses as Kismet (a consistent HOTY competitor and 2nd place finisher in the Wonder Where Stakes*) and champion-in-the-making Amaris (BC Juvenile Turf Sprint*, Lure Green Mile*, Turquoise Sprint*, Superstar Sprint*). The dam is of old Akita Rose stock, and also produced Breeders' Cup runner Grave Digger, The Wire Finish Cup Juvenile Mile* winner Diggam, and G2 HOTY winner Sylvanite. These lines are deep and lucrative, and the filly herself looks to be a strong late-blooming successor.
Bidding starts at $300,000.
Sold with one breeding to Frosty, and buybacks to Ripley!
Hip 008 - Patriot dk b/br. c. by Everyday Hero, out of The True Fallen For
This next hip, while the last of our spotlights, is certainly not the least. By a Hall of Famer, Patriot has proven himself a strong HOTY competitor, and is sitting on a major five-year-old season. He's won five HOTY races, and finished second at three in the Queen's Plate*. This wonderful competitor is half to such siblings as BC Filly and Mare Turf Sprint* winner Taboo, Shining Stakes* winner Wishing For A Heroine, good HOTY mare Everyday Smile, BC Juvenile Fillies Turf* winner Celebrity, BC Turf Marathon* winner Wish Upon A Star, BC Marathon* winner Vindictive Fury, Duchess Stakes* winner Peacebreaker, BC Juvenile Fillies Turf* winner Scintilla, and Turquoise Sprint* winner Loud And Clear. He's from such a solid line, and such has such a good chance next year that this could be your next superstar!
Hip 010 - Shady Biscuit b. c. by Mr. Hat and Clogs, out of Flashabelle
Shady Biscuit is a dirt miler going into his five-year-old year, and at G2, is perfectly poised to begin his breakthrough into higher level competition. This colt has been a consistent workhorse throughout his career, winning 3-4 races every season on his steady climb through the grades. This colt is half to such horses as Woodbine Oaks* winner Miss Magic and good HOTY* mare Quick Silver. He also has an old and prolific pedigree, making him a great stallion prospect in the next couple of years!
Ripley would like this horse to go to an active home, and since your horses haven't been very active this year Holly, this is going to be a no sale. If you have any further questions, please contact Ripley.
Hip 012 - Winged Passion b. f. by Impassioned Wind, out of Winged Bandit
While this filly hasn't been settled in one home for any full length of time, she has an outstanding pedigree that hints there are greater things to come. Through the sire, this coming four-year-old is half to the likes of Triple Crown Champion and dual Breeders' Cup winner Furious Passion (sire of G1 horses Calypso's Fury and Enrapture), Breeders' Cup winner Tempered Passion (sire of G1 horses Mourning Passion and Passionate God, as well as G2 Foxy Passion), consistent HOTY horse Wild Tide, HOTY winner Soaring Passion, and sire Streaks of Passion (sire of classic miler Socialite). She has no other siblings to run through the dam, though is related to G1* winner Vagabond through her. Even if this filly doesn't make it big on the track, which is unlikely in the long run, she's a lovely future broodmare prospect!
Hip 013 - Winter's Act ch. c. by Bizarre Act, out of Winter Rose
This racing prospect juvenile is a fully Ar Y Ffin bred horse, and therefore from a fresh and exciting bloodline! Through the sire, this colt is half to the likes of grade three Bizarre Redemption and HOTY-winning coming-three-year-old Bizarre Twist. The dam, Winter Rose, has also produced Winter's End and very consistent Winder Soldier. This could be a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new legacy!
Please note: the 12-horse rule is waived on this horse!
Hip 014 - All In ch. f. by Gamble On Peace, out of Cry Out Chaos
If you're looking for a 'what have you done for me lately' pedigree, this filly should turn your head! Her sire was a so-so racehorse, but he's more than proven himself exceptional in the breeding shed. Through him, this filly is half to such horses as Breeders' Cup Sprint* and Speedway Stakes* winner Toss Up and grade one HOTY horse Sophie's Harmony. The dam, Cry Out Chaos, most notably also produced Reflected In Water, winner of the Mother Goose Stakes* and Dr. Fager Red Mile*. This filly hasn't truly shone herself up until now, but in the right hands she's got all of the right ingredients for a late-career superstar!
